take notes anyone who thinks Arreola did the right "business move, or the smart move" .
First Holyfield and Tyson were scheduled to fight in nov 1991....tyson pulled out with a "rib" injury...then steps in Francisco Damiani on short notice...he gets injured....on even SHORTER notice Bert Cooper gets the call. Do you think he said, " ummm no thanks, i really dont want to get a million bucks and a shot at the heavyweight title...im not quite ready...can you ask me again next year? Cooper went in with nothing to lose and almost walked out with the belts.....hes a fighter...thats why he fought...how many shots did he get after that? well 1 if you count the WBO back then... guys todays have no balls, no motivation and lousy managers who want them to get paid for nothing.....

That is my favorite Holyfield fight. Very underrated that fight is. And yet that wasn't even Cooper's best action fight you guys should go check out his slugfest w/ Michael Moorer that's one of the greatest fights I've ever seen

i doubt arreola doesnt want a crack at the heavywieght title... i think his management has a big percentage in what he says. they are his keeper after all

I'm just effing around. I don't want him to take it on short notice, he needs time to get in shape. I'm rooting for Chris against any one of the KKK brothers

Oh yeah the moorer fight was great but I prefer the Holy fight. The way Cooper came out and landed those short right hands and damn near knocked Holyfield out. Then Evander had to adjust and realized the uppercut could slip right through the guard. From that point on it was a ****ing brawl. My second favourite Holyfield fight after Bowe, ahead of his Qwai fights. Back to the thread topic: yes that dude had balls. Considering he was a crackhead just a few years earlier and basically written off he took the chance of a lifetime and almost won the title. THAT'S what fighters are supposed to do.

This is what happens to todays lazy fighters. thats why they end their career with 20-30 fights.

james toney is the only active throw back fighter who did his business in the ring..80 plus fights.

If you stay in the ring you stay in shape. fighting 1-3 times a year does jack **** for your conditioning. Boxing now is all about business and not about the fighting.

Bert Cooper was also more of a man than any HW out there today, outside of maybe Lamon Brewster and Danny Williams.
