Those guys didn't RELY on it though. That's the difference. One could argue that Ruiz is still around because he suffocates the action with holding basically.

 

By stepping in the ring and showing desire to go anywhere for a fight even after being robbed he proves he has the heart of a tiger. Other guys won't even go overseas for double amounts and this guy doesn't care even on short notice.

 

They do it because they HAVE to. Almost impossible to hate on the resume of a guy with Razor Ruddock, Holyfield, Tyson, Golota and Morrison to name a few.

Like I said you don't have to go far to read people bashing/ragging on Lennox.

 

Of course they didn't rely on it, just making a point that everyone does it in the sport whether by relying on it or not, just the fact that it has been done.

 

Compared to other greats he definitely doesn't get what he is supposed to, maybe in the long run that will change though unlikely. As long as he's in top 10 ATG lists he's safe.

 

I'd hope so but I don't expect it to to be completely honest.

sure, thats says alot of ruiz to be the road warrior...with that said..once he climbs in the ring, quit being a ***** every 2 seconds. he i the most brutally boring and irritating guy to watch , then comes fres oquendo...and when they fought, i was ready to pour gas in my eyes....

Lewis gets the least credit from that era in boxing from certain people yes, but they're all morons. Lennox Lewis was the greatest HW since Holmes, which is no mean feat. Look how much the division is missing him now he's gone....he beat the best HW champ there is right now and he did it when that guy was in his prime and Lewis was faded....Lewis in time will be remembered VERY fondly for what he did to VITLAY alone, never mind what he did when he was actually interested.

My point about Ruiz isn't related to Lewis though, my point about Ruiz relates to the guys total willingness to fight anyone, anytime, anyplace reagardless of what has happened to him in the past. Ruiz has mental strength to die for.

 

This could be our chance guys....Wlad could be the one to retire Jawny and finally rid us of this virus that no one has had a cure for since Tua.
