Anyone lost a fight and not felt too bad about it? I fought on Sunday 5 rounds with a guy who had KO'ed a guy VERY highly reputed inside one round. I walked into the show people saying... "**** you fighting him? You not gonna last a round!!!" etc... ended up doing 5 rounds and taking almost all his shots... He did knock me down in round 5 but it was more of a slip and then he hit me off balance, it was only a 4 count.

Just wondering if people had simular experiences... I think if you go into a fight with everyone expecting you go get your ass kicked then you can't be too disapointed if you lose... If you go in there and surprise people you done something right. I had people coming up after saying fight of the night, best fight they'd seen in months, etc, etc... How can I be mad at myself? Should I be?

I'm sad I lost but that'skind of out-weighed by my pride at the performance...

actually i had a fight last august, and i did the ass kicking. whooped up on the guy and had him reeling in the third however he kept hanging on for dear life. however they raised his hand at the end of the fight (hometown boy). But his coaches and a bunch of fans and even some pro's that were at the show came up and told me i should have won hands down. even signed some autographs (thought that was awesome). But even though i was blatantly robbed i wasn't all that upset, because that sort of stuff happens, boxing is dirty and you can either take it or leave it. I understand that so i didn't get upset

I got a horror decision last saturday. They brought some guy over from sweden to fight me and I swear to god it was the best i've ever boxed and i gave him a boxing lesson off of the back foot with him just plodding forward the whole time. I was mixing it up with straight counters, left hooks and body shots as he came in and then moving away again and the *******s gave it a unanimous decision to him. They didn't use computer scoring for some reason. I was livid. Can't even explain how raging i was after it but after a couple of days u calm down and realise u did well and take some pride in that.

    Judges are *******s though.

Don't feel bad my friend, it's all about learning from your experiences. Now when you have another fight, it'll be that much easier since you already fought a damn beast

I don't feel too bad about any of my losses. It's all about experience. I've had some losses that I've performed my best and learned a lot and grown as a boxer....that's worth more than any easy win.

    Awesome job Aplin!
Props to getting in there with bare shins :)
Like others have said, if it's amateur, you're not losing money, you're just gaining experience - if you fought your best & learned something from the fight, then that's a victory in itself.
Didn't look to be standard gloves either, was it an interclub?
They make us wear head gear & sometimes shinguards for our interclubs; hate it.
