Its always internet fans who use this line reasoning, "he should take the fight for training expenses", "they should make it a winner takes all fight"....BS. Your analogy doesn't work either, Haye could do the job well but Wlad could do it better and Haye is ****ed, hes fought for nothing AND his stock has gone down as a result of the loss so his future earning potential is hit as well.

For some reason professional boxers like to get paid when they fight....go figure!!

The financial situation at Setanta is something that I would keep an eye on, I'm not one that goes in for this conspiracy theory stuff, but the OP makes an interesting point.

 

1.) haye called the fight off cause he wasn't getting paid... no one's fault
2.) haye offers to reschedule it in 3 weeks... wlad doesn't... waldo's fault
3.) haye gets screwed by setanta... no one's fault

so that makes it 1 fault for wlad, 0 faults for haye. tell your boy waldo to step his game up!!!!

You're a complete moron if you think Haye would fight for free, if he loses this fight which he most likely will his biggest pay day he is likely to earn his career is gone. He is backed by pretty much everyone to lose (except those wearing there hearts on there sleeves) and despite what you say, MONEY is important to a human beings ability to eat and buy things. There are no such things as pensions in boxing and Haye has to build up enough money to pay for his promotion and to take him nicely through his retirement. you honestly think you can change a fight of this size and ALL the different contracts and just change it along with the training schedule 3 weeks like its no problem?

you have NO idea about what is happening behind the fight with TV, Stadium, ticket sales, ETC. They are much better off letting Haye get healthy and rescheduling the fight then trying to move it 3 weeks
