You do all realise Haye wouldn't get paid a penny if he faced Wladdy?

    Why is a joke?

He can hardly come out and admit it in public...

Setanta are close to the brink according to some and it's a very plausible theory.

Exactly, funny that Chef finds that "crazy" when if faced with the same situation I'd exactly the same. Face the heavyweight champion who could, ruin your career/ruin your life if hurt enough to the point where you'll never make this kind of money if any money again and it could all be for absolute bubkiss and your only viable way out to avoid getting sued by Setanta for loss of earnings (plus every other PPV/Sponsor etc.) is to feign injury...you'd be stupid not too.

Theres no proof at the moment but...

    a) Setanta is paying Hayes purse

    b) Setanta are close to going bust and have recently defaulted on a (relatively small) £3m payment to the SPL.

    c) Haye gets injured, can't possbily fight on the original date but will definately be OK to fight 3 short weeks later after Setantas fate will have been decided (either buyout or bust) and Haye can find a new UK TV backer.

Theres enough there to at least warrent discussion that things arn't on the level...

Is faking an injury the only way to get out of this situation for Haye? Couldn't he have just been straight with everyone?
Don't think anyone could blame him for backing out when he isn't going to get paid.

    Exactly.

First Waldo makes Haye sign the ridiculous contract (Haye is earning chump change compared to Glass Jawed Waldo)

Now when Haye tries to feed his family and postpone his fight, Waldo is too scared to face him.

    :-:)-:)-(

Does Waldo want to please the fans or not?

Wladimir, who is the champion and calls the shots, already waited months longer than he wanted to for this date. He originally wanted to fight in March or April, not June. Now Haye wants him to wait another month for a maybe fight. Back injuries are a ***** I'm sure but that's not Wlad's fault.

Haye doesn't have a family that I'm aware of. Is he even married?

Anyway, Wlad has waited long enough & the stars are right for unification. Chagaev just got swindled by Don King, Valuev & Ruiz who scheduled the fight in Finland knowing Chagaev wouldn't pass the test.

Chag is in shape, looking for a fight & he still has time to change up his training to fight a different foe. Same with Wladimir.

Different fight, different time. It isn't a certainty that Haye would be ready in 3 or 4 weeks either & you know it too. Meanwhile the division is waiting for unification based on David Haye? I think not.

Haye's going to be ready in 3 weeks because he's a warrior who knows how to fight through pain unlike Vitali who cancels a fight everytime he gets a hangnail.
