see this is what i dont like about roach, i give manny all the credit i nthe world, but why continue to down play your own guys win over oscar, it makes manny's win over oscar look even worse by statements like this....

it makes roach look like he is cherry picking guys for pac....oscar a dead man and hatton, who he said was a creation of frank warren.

i reckon pac would fair well against mosley though, big risk to take at that weight though, especially knowing that roach would have known before the pac - odl fight that oscar would have to drain himself

Roach knows that Mosley would be the hardest fight for Pac from 147 bellow and now hes waiting to see the JMM-fraud fight and the Cotto fight to make a decision.

He also said Mayweather was weak, lazy, and the easiest option out Mayweather, Cotto, and Mosley. It doesn't matter what he says though. The public will decide how significant these wins are.

He's not playing down Pac's win, he is saying that it was worth going to 147 to fight DLH due to the fact he was the biggest name in boxing. Shane, as much as I respect him as a fighter, he is not as big of a draw as DLH and this is why Roach does not see the risk/reward as worth it this time. In no way is this derogatory towards Pac's win.

Not surprising. If Mosley isn't dead at the weight like Oscar, they don't want the fight because Pac will get knocked out in brutal fashion.

Mosley was OTG with Williams yesterday, and both seemed to hint they could fight each other, Mosley when asked said it could happen, Williams said typically he will fight anybody from 147-168. If neither can get the fights they want (Mosley said he wants Pac then Floyd, Williams wants Calzaghe at 168) then I think they should and will fight each other.

the reality is.......to get a big money fight with Oscar, you do it on his terms.

Now to get a big money fight with Manny, you do it on his terms!

Life is hard............if Mosley wants it bad enough, he can go join Jenny Craig and sign the contract!

Then if he wins........if people want a big money fight with Mosley, its on his terms!

Don't take Roach pre-fight statements seriously. What would you expect him to say? He's Pac's trainer, not his opponents' publicist. That's how it is in boxing, Matters are decided by fighters, not trainers, in the ring.

Good move by Roach, why the **** should Manny go to 147 where he clearly doesn't belong and fight him?

That's a flat-out lie that Mosley EVER said he would not go below 147. Typical idiotic thread from the resident idiot Asero.

Roach is just honest about his fighters opponents.

When Roach trained Oscar for the Floyd fight, he realised that he was no longer an elite fighter. He felt that by making him move down to 147 he would stand absolutely no chance againsta guy as good as Pacquiao even though Pacquiao would be moving up 2 divisions.

And he thinks Hatton was never that good. They took the fight because its what the boxing world wanted and it was a huge payday.

I don't think it would be better if he lied just to make his fighters wins look better. Roach still knows that Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world. He said himself that Pacquiao is better than Mayweather and Marquez. And if that wasn't the case, he would say so. He is brutally honest even about his own guys.

And one thing for sure is that Roach never came out and said that Morales was past it in the second fight when Pacquiao knocked him out in the 10th. Someone should ask him if he thinks Morales was past it on that night. I bet he would say no.
