Shane Mosley recently went to Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, Calif., to discuss a possible fight against Roach’s star protégé, Manny Pacquiao.

The conversation wasn’t complicated, Roach said. It went something like this:

Roach: “Can you make 142 (pounds)?”

    Mosley: “No, I can’t get below 147.”

Roach: “Then there’ll be no fight.”

Mosley: “But you fought Oscar (De La Hoya) at 147?”

    Roach: “You’re not Oscar.”

Meanwhile, Oscar De La Hoya, with whom Mosley works in Golden Boy Promotions, said he doesn’t believe Pacquiao and his handlers would ever take the Mosley fight. And if they did, De La Hoya said, “Mosley would crush Pacquiao in a heartbeat.”

“That’s why I think it would never happen,” De La Hoya said. “Mosley is willing to come down in weight and take a smaller share of the pot, which show you he wants to fight the best. Obviously that’s an admirable quality.

“I just don’t feel Freddie and Manny will do it. … Mosley is too big a threat. Was I a risk when I came down to 147? Freddie Roach is smart. He saw something. Was Ricky Hatton a risk? Again, Freddie is a smart guy. That’s why he’s the best."

    He spoke the truth.

Why can he fight DLH at 147 but not MOsley or Cotto?

can't believe mosley really tryin to fight pac :patsch
picking on a smaller guy is not cool, mosley should be fighting his own size, when i say his own size boxer who's been fighting 3-5 years in his weight division. :verysad

the quote from Oscar that makes me laugh the most is on the weigh-in of Hatton vs Pacquiao

"If Hatton had fought me on December 6th, he would have knocked me out!"

Really? Do you really suck that bad? God damn  weight drained or not that **** is embarassing.

With that reasoning, ODLH, Ray Leaonard, Ray Robinson, Roy Jones, Shane Mosley, and many others would never have had a shot at being champs at a higher division.

Anyway, why can Pac fight DLH at 147, but not Mosley or Cotto?

Great win for Pacquiao because he was the smaller man and knocked him out in 2 and made him look like a bum, not cause Hatton is some kind of ATG fighter.

Why? Pac's last two fights were at 147 and 140.

Shane moved up two divisions to fight DLH.

ODLH moved up to fight Hopkins.

RJJ moved up to fight Ruiz.

Larios moved up to fight Pacquiao.

Fighters move up all the time. Pac has moved up, fought at 140 won by KO, and fought at 147 and gets so much credit for that win at that weight. SO why not Shane call his ass out so that Pac can prove the DLH win is legit and not a win over a zombie.
