Foreman got tired swinging wild against Ali and didnt get used to the heat in puerto rico against Young so that means he had bad stamina? Hilarious. Bowe doesn't have the power or chin to beat any version of Foreman so he gets Tko in less than 5
I think both could beat the other, but I'm going to favor Foreman. While Bowe certainly had more size power and overall mobility than many of Foreman's victims during the 70's, he also had some issues. His chin was decent, but his defense was poor. At one point, he was out on his feat against Hide, was decked by a horribly prepared Holyfield in their third match, was thrashed twice by Golata, and nearly outboxed by an aging Tubbs. My thinking is that Foreman would have plenty of chances to land big punches early and would capitalize on any immediate damage that he may have caused. Of course, if Riddick survived the early rounds, he might have a chance of wearing George down to stop him late, but I have my doubts...
Good fight, Bowe was technically the better fighter, and could equal Foreman on the inside, and box better on the outside. Whether Bowe could take Foremans thunderous shots would be the question, because Bowe would mix it up with Foreman. Foreman always liked Bowe's style, and said he never would have wanted to fight him.
Great fight here. Bowe is better than Lyle who nearly took Foreman out by trading so don't count Bowe out. I'm going to pick Foreman though, the difference is Bowe is there to be hit. No one can take Foremans shots cleanly without severe damage. Foreman KO5, with both men hurt.
An in-shape Bowe would cause all sorts of problems for Foreman, but I think the fight degenerates into a slugfest sooner rather than later, and Bowe isn't winning that. If he sticks to boxing, Bowe wins.
His chin was very good, no doubt. The problem, however is that he had the tendency to absorb too much punishment for his own good - something that may have shortened his career. He was almost out on his feet against Herbie Hide, dropped by a declining and very poorly prepared Holyfield, and beaten pillar to post by a second rater in Golata ( though I think Bowe was slipping at the time, and Golat's horrible conduct did not help. ) Bowe would certainly be able to take some Foreman's shots, and might even pull off a win in the end. I would be more comfortable picking Riddick if I was certain that he chose to BOX Foreman, rather than engage in open war with him. The problem, is that somehow I see this fight turning into a slugfest between two very big and very stubborn punchers. Under such circumstances, I might have to give Foreman the edge. An open trading session thoughout the first five rounds of a match, is a game that I wouldn't favor too many men to top George at. Tyson and Louis are probably the only fighters that I would give a good chance to, but its not something that I'd bet money on.
