Williams is a very good fighter. But we all know why Arum is shutting him out with Cotto, Clottey, and Marg. Because when Marg risked it all and took him as the mando instead of the planned showdown with Cotto he lost. Then in return for the shot he was given he refused the immediate rematch Marg offered in the ring interview after the match, the post fight conference, and the following month after the fight.

It may not be right but boxing politics is a big thing you **** someone off you get shutout.

I would like to see those guys fight Willy but its clear by now that its not going to happen,so instead of waiting for something that most likelly will never happen he should move on and try to get a fight with Abraham or Pavlik.

It ain't about what Paul should do...

    He's moved on, basically.

It's about the fans acting like ****in hypocrites when it comes to Floyd. You don;t see how this is all hypocritical?

But he was in talks to fight Williams shortly after he beat Margarito. Even though Williams is all wrong for Mosley, he'd take a fight with him if he had to. Just there's a lot of free money floating around right now. Shane's just trying to grab it.

Cotto was selling out MSG and Williams wasn't even known. Not to mention this isn't the Arum way.

You guys act like complete noobs to the way Arum works. Cotto vs Margarito had been in planning since the Clottey and Quintana double card. Arum has been pushing these two as the "people Floyd fears" for years now. Remember (because revisionist history is now key) Cotto vs Judah was supposed to lead to Margarito vs Cotto in MSG in November. Instead Paul Williams took Margarito and Arum to court and forced his way in. Afterwards Williams beat Margarito (cleanly) and set the plans backwards. After Williams decided to not give Margarito a rematch (which is fine), Arum went back to trying to recreate Margarito vs Cotto.

The plan was always for Margarito vs Cotto regardless of what the fighters wanted. Follow the script and you'll see it. Hell look at it now! The plan is still to do a sequel. Once Margarito comes back, he'll fight a tune up and Arum will pair them together again.

Paul Williams made himself the wrong enemy and now he's paying for it. Welcome to Boxing 101.

Not necessarily. I for one want to see him in a challenging fight win or lose. He hasn't been in one since Castillo. That's not all his fault.

But around the time of the Hoya and Hatton fights there was a huge rebirth n the welter division. With Cotto, Mosley, Marg, Williams, Cintron, Berto, Collazo, Quintana, as well as Floyd. Now to me thats a stacked division.

Alot of those guys fought each other and had great classic fights. Some like Williams got stalled out some got beaten. Floyd in that mix could have become a legend.

    Do you agree?

but the diference between Margo.,Cotto,Mosley and Floyd is that the first three at least fought each other while Floyd didnt fought any of them.

So you guys are bringin up that old bull**** argument about not giving Margo a rematch?

That's bull****. Margo didn't want a rematch. What he asked for was to decertify the results of the first fight and make him a mandatory. THAT is what Margarito asked for. But you ****ers keep leaving out that little detail. That is why Paul said "**** you"...

Big difference in asking for a rematch and wanting a do-over. You Understand?

Those 3 fighters aren't that good, they just seem good because they beat each other.

margarito is not that good. He lacks defense everyone and Cotto quit against him.

Cotto beat Mosley in a close fight. Mosley is old thats why it was a close fight.

Mosley killed Margarito because Margarito sucks balls.

It comes down to this, you think they are good, I think because Cotto is so ****ing overrated it makes these 3 seem like they are.

    **** you. I'm homophobic.

    Next question?

    :lol::lol:
Seriously.... Cotto doesn't "call out" fighters so to say, but when asked about certain fighters, he has always said some **** like "Yeah I'll fight him", or "That would be a great fight", or something like that... But when asked about P, he just gets all marble-mouthed and starts glancing over at his daddy Bob Arum... waiting for someone to bail him out of the question...

    Like "Where's the Teleprompter?"

Margarito also asked for a rematch. Margarito asked Williams for a rematch and Williams said that he needed a little time off because he had been fighting at a hectic pace (and he had). Margarito took that (amongst with the fact that he'll swear to this day that he didn't lose that fight) as an insult.

ALSO happening in between that was an issue between Williams and Pavlik, which only furthered the problems between the duo.

    In summation:

"I think my chain was being jerked the whole time," Arum said last month. "And I'll remember that if they ever want to fight Cotto or Margarito, whoever wins that fight ... because no one is going to jerk my chain like they did. When you agree to everything that they ask for and then they don't want the fight, you have to believe that your chain was jerked."

Basically? The Bobfather has pulled the curtain down on anything Williams vs Cotto/Margo/Clottey or Pavlik related.
