The julio cesar chavez sr appreciation thread

People tend to fall in love with elusive fighters and slicksters like Pea, PBF and RJJ...but this guy had a different but equally impressive set of skills. He did fight a hell of a lot of bums, but has some fantastic wins as well and with over 100 fights i think we can excuse him some taxi drivers.

The guy makes me proud to be a boxing fan!!!

RJJ was more talent than skill. That's why he faired so badly once his prime ended.

Chavez is so underated by the americans, thats a fact!!!

but for me, he was so much more entertaining and amazing fighter than Whitaker ....

& his combo's were ment to Kill, not score points.

Chavez skills comes in different styles ... the Combinations, the ACCURACY , THE PRESSURE , THE INSIDE GAME !!!!!

If you consider skill technical flashiness then that's fine with me...it's just not specifically what I subscribe to.

Could any of those mentioned stalk an opponent the way JCC could!?!? Comes down to weather you consider that a skill or not I guess!!!

Anybody that calls Chavez a bum is a ****ing ****. But then again, this is the general boxing section.
