I like Froch, but does anyone seriously think he could beat B-Hop?!

I think Carl Froch gets a bad rap on here. Yes, he was sloppy for most of the fight against Taylor, but that was a huge step up in class for Carl. He had never fought anyone with the class or speed or poise of Jermain Taylor, who was and still is a world class boxer IMO. After the lesson Froch learned in that fight, he will never be so complacent or amateurish again. I'm sure most British fans who have watched Carl over the years will agree, he does actually have the fundamental and technical ability to box a helluva lot better than he did against Taylor.

However, I have heard murmurings of late regarding a possible Froch fight and victory vs Bernard Hopkins.

    How do I put this?

NOT A SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN HELL. :fire

Froch is absolutely tailor-made for Hopkins. He would be lucky to land one lucky swing cleanly the entire night, and would without doubt take a succession of hard, accurate counters en route to being outclassed, facially mutilated, and outpointed by light years.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who disagrees...

    Is there anybody out there.................?

Yep, Bhop is way too skilled for Froch, even if he win (almost impossible but) anyone will be saying, he was old and shot. Bute is a better choice, very hard but winnable fight and a unification along the way.

First, I doubt the fight will ever happen. Constant references to BHop are probably just a negotiating ploy to mess with Bute.

Second, Pavlik does pretty much everything better than Froch does, and we all saw how BHop/KP turned out.

Third, if this fight does happen, Froch will not see the end of the 10th round. He's tough, but considering his near total lack of defensive prowess, his slow hands, his poor foot positioning, his lack of head movement, his inability to move laterally, and general clumsiness, no one can take the amount of punishment Hopkins would dish out round, after round, after round. The old man stops him in 10 while sweeping the score cards.

I do think Froch can hear the final bell. He genuinely is better than he looked against Taylor (Carl can jab and defend when he wants to), and he has a strong chin, and B-Hop seems to lack the killer instinct these days. But I agree with you in sentiment - it would be utter domination.

This will be another feather in B-Hops cap, and his match maker deserves redit if this fight goes ahead. One dimensional come forward fighters like Pavlik and Froch were tailer made to be executed. Can't wait.

Like I said earlier, I'm a Froch fan but he's way out of his depth. This is Pavlik all over again. Hopkins feasts on these straight-forward pressure guys. Not that Froch is actually a proper pressure fighter, but he'll fight that way from now on and Hopkins will make him fight the way that Hopkins himself wants Froch to fight.

Froch does not swing wildly watch his fights first, Hopkins will be an easy fight for Froch. Hopkins got hurt by the one and only right hand trow by Pavlik in the entire fight, Froch will land flush just like he did with pascal and taylor, Hopkins will get KO believe me.

    Sadly, Hopkins by KO.

If I'm honest Taylor should be ashamed he never forced a stoppage.

Froch has the stamina and heart of a pro but the skills and movement of a sub-amateur.

I doubt anyone would give him a chance against an A level fighter like Hopkins. A total mismatch
