I think it's Roach trying to strategize and trying to make Mosley really squeeze down that extra few lbs in the hopes that this will make him a bit weaker.

But i'm still surprised Roach is oking this fight as Mosley probably has as much power as anyone at WW and has the hand speed to touch Pacman. There are easier foes for Pacman.

Shane comes in on fight night at 160. There's no way he could make 140.

 

it should be at 144. otherwise it's basically cheating to get mosley weight drained like they did vs de la hoya. even 144 is gonna be tough for shane but I still think he knocks pac out at 144.

Because Mosley doesn't offer the recognition and money Oscar does. If it wasn't for Oscar offering the insane attention/money/hype Manny would still be at 135.

Roach mentioned their plans even before they step in against Oscar, they would move down to 140 after it and STAY there. If anyone wants it they can go down. People seem to forget that because everyone overlooked Pacquiao going in against Oscar and expected him to get KO'd.

Considering the size difference can anyone blame him?, he wants to protect his fighter like the other guys are trying to protect themselves with the size advantage they have.

Roach is just trying to level the playing field. Against Oscar, it was Oscar's fault that he was dead at the weight. He could have struggled a to make 147 on fight night and run right from the scales to the nutrients... but instead he planned it all wrong. It wasn't Roach who developed Oscar's conditioning program

 

Because Oscar was fighting at 154 and higher, and Manny was at 135 and lower. Making 147 the obvious compromise from both sides.

Mosley is 147, Manny 140, so it makes sense there are three options: fight at 140, 147, or a catchweight. It ain't rocket science.

 

the thing is manny is the draw so he's going to get all the advantages.
