Bert Sugar: “Pacquiao Greatest Asian Fighter of All Time”

In a recent ESPN sports Chat long time boxing historian Bert Sugar claimed Manny Pacquiao as the greatest Asian Fighter of all time and the best left hander of all time.

Bert Sugar: While it is never been my habit to include a fighter who is still fighting, because I can not judge his entire career and/or where his prime was (his prime is where I judge) I think Manny Pacquiao is making one helluva case to be included.

Although Sugar predicted Hatton will beat Pac, he is generous enough to praise Pac as the greatest Asian fighter of all and the greatest lefthanded fighter of all time. Wow! This is the ultimate accolade for Pac coming from a legendary boxing historian, Bert Sugar.

 

Bert is quite the character. He also knows boxing and boxing facts and figures unlike anyone I've ever met. "Greatest Asian fighter of all time" is certainly possible (although arguable).....I don't know about the southpaw part, that might be a stretch.

 

Lmfao @ The greatest asian of all times. Well duh of course he's the greatest asian of all times CAUSE THERES NO OTHER ASIAN FIGHTERS THAT ARE ACTUALLY GOOD. And the greatest southpaw of all times? Damn does suger hate fighters with slick skills? Cause Pacquiao ain't better southpaw then Whitaker imo.

If you've never heard of those two, why do you expect people to take your opinion seriously in the first place? Not even meant in a disrespectful way, but that speaks pretty poorly of your boxing knowledge. There have been MANY great fighters that have hailed from Asia.

 

You're damned right. There are plenty of great Asian fighters but Pacquiao is greatest of them all.

Pac is probably the best maybe. but the way rayhogan dismissed all other great asian fighters of the past left a bad taste.

 

Are you kidding me? Those other fighters from asia, nobody and i mean nobody don't even know who are those fighters except maybe you and the other biased Pacquiao fans. I bet even Bert Sugar don't even know who those fighters are. Have those asian fighters even been on tv? Who have they beat? Fighters that are 20 wins with 50 losses?
