I am going with Vitali Klitschko in this one. He was far more proven against true world class fighters like Sanders, Hide, Hoffman, Williams, Peter and Purity. Louis could not possibly have proved himself in a modern era with wins over mediocrities like Schmeling, Walcott, Braddock, Baer, Carnera or Sharkey.

Louis was thrown down to the canvas by every man who ever wore a boing glove. Can anyone tell me a single time when Vitali Kltschko was ever dropped? I thought not.

Louis is really out of his league. No match here, and I don't think this thread needs much discussion, as I have already summed up the truth of the matter.

    You are kidding, right?
I don“t think Klitschko should even be mentioned in the same room as Joe Louis.

Vitali is too big to win this one. His size works against him here. Louis was at his best against bigger men. I doubt Vitaly would be able to recover after getting hit by a joe Louis combination.

This is a tough fight for Louis because Vitali does almost everything well and has a concrete chin to back it up.

Louis wins this one once he gets inside.

Woddy is all knowing ... just ask him ... LOL ... (joke)

Louis is way too quick and hard hitting ... he takes Vitali apart and stops him in seven or so ... Vitali does much better than his brother who would be flattened early ...

I don't necessarily agree that Louis would " flatten Wlad early. " Sure, i'd favor Louis to win, but to say that Wlad has no chance of putting up a fight is hard to imagine..

Louis by decision. Vitali is on a different level than the likes of Carnera, Baer, Simon (welcome, SuzieQ), but Louis is too good a puncher and probably wins enough rounds for a decision.

1938 Joe Louis KO 2 Vitali. Vitali is slow, has horrible timing, paws with his jab, has no mobility, his one punch power is mediocre, leans back to try to avoid punches, fights with left hand by his waist, and has the proven ability to quit on his stool in adverse situations. Vitali has become the most overrated head to head fighter of all time. I have never seen a fighter with such a bad resume, get rated so highly. I feel like people rate vitali for what he could have accomplished, rather than what he has actually accomplished. Vitali will be a stationary sitting duck for Louis. Even if Vitali tries to get cute in there with his low left bending around the waist to avoid punches, Louis fast 5-6 ripping combinations are going to find the big punching bag and end things. There is no such thing as a good chin against a Prime Joe Louis. Louis faced men just as durable as Vitali and knocked them out cold. The reason this fight will end early is vitali will come out aggresive, and this will be his downfall.

What Vitali is best at is using his Size, Good chin, Good stamina to wear down his other man(and the other man was usually out of shape/overweight....Peter, Gomez, Sanders, Johnson)...Vitali is a pretty good accumalitive puncher, which is why he scores alot of late stoppages. He is not a one punch knockout artist.

Not only would Joe Louis win over Vitali Klitschko, but many of the people that Joe defeated would beat Vitali...in my opinion, of course.

Now Wlad vs Louis, THAT WOULD BE A GOOD FIGHT. Wlad actually has skills and offensive arsenal near the level of Lennox Lewis...so he has a better shot of upsetting Louis than Vitali does. Now wlads big weaknsess( Chin, and Panic Attacks) will cause him to get knocked out by Louis...but Wlad has the firepower to make Louis work for it.

I have a hard time envisioning Vitali Klitschko getting knocked out by a 195-pound Joe Louis. I'm not saying it wouldn't happen, but I think the size difference combined with Vitali's pretty good skill set would present a formidable obstacle for Louis.
