It was one of his fights with Jimmy McClarrin so Ross would have been in his prime. I think you're right, I just forgot to add a few years when I was looking at the film.

Ross was some boxer very scientific and technical one of the best of the 50s and thats saying alot

Yep, I've checked it was the third fight. You're right, Ross was a very good boxer, he had one hell of a interesting World War 2 in the US Marines. If you ever come across his book anywhere, its well worth a read.

 

Does anyone know anything about getting DVD files from that site onto disk?:nutThey've come up as VOB files-struggling to find a piece of software that can convert it.

Sure mate!! I just want to get everything onto a hard disk and organized, at the moment theres stuff on DVD, VHS, memory sticks, old laptops....its a real PITA.
