Peter was part of the problem. If a skill less slug like him can get a belt the Division must be in trouble. He lost every round to a guy that had been out of the game for over 4 years.

I still remember when people on here were comparing Peter to a young Mike Tyson and how he was going to "take over the Heavyweight Division" etc.

And this was when he was still fighting the Jeremy Williams, Yanqui Diaz, Julius Long type fighters.:rofl:patsch

I never said he was going to be the next Tyson, anyone with two eyes and a brain could see that. I did however see him becoming champ, which he did. I blame Peters problems on his weight and new training team, who tried making Peter a boxer, not a sluggler. Which was similar to what Buddy McGuirt tried doing to Brewster, and we seen the results when he faced Wlad the second time.

I think Peter had his up's and downs, but I would like to think most people remember him being the last man to make Wlad panic and do a nose dive into the canvas a couple times.

Are you kidding? Let Wlad and Brawler version of Brewster fight 10 times and Wlad win them all except the first fight when Wlad got knocked the **** out. Brewster is not in Wlads league. gtfo.:deal

The guys playing the race card in this thread are ****ing clowns. This weight class has been dull as dirt for the better part of a decade and everyone knows it. At present, the Heavyweight division is comprised of two solid fighters and a surfeit of bums. 75% of them can't even be bothered to show up in shape for their fights.

Honestly, it's pretty amusing to see people who are so excited by the fact that almost all of the top contenders at HW share their complexion that they are willing to deny reality.

I disagree, Brewster had the type of style that would always have a chance of beating Wlad. Great chin and heart, aggressive in spots and packed one hell of a hook. I actually picked Brewster to beat Wad that night, and everyone laughed at me. I knew Wlad wasn't that tough and would melt if things got a little rough, and he almost did in the 3rd round when Brewster caught him with a good straight left that buckled his knees and made him panic.

Wlad 's talent is out of Brewster's league, but theirs other things you must factor in when breaking down a match-up.

Is that any different than the people who whine and complain because they don't share their complexion? :huh

I don't think race has anything to do with it and it should not.

Boxing now more than ever is a Global sport with champions from all over the World. That, to me is what makes Boxing the best sport in the World.

I am American and I have realized in the last Decade that Boxing is thriving more so in other countries and in a way dieing a slow death in America. I have come to accept that and it won't make me quit watching the sport.

    No.
I agree although I'm confused about why you chose to write this in response to me instead of the people who actually dragged race into this thread when it hadn't been mentioned at the outset.

    Yep.

    Good for you.

BTW I'm also an American who follows fighters without regards to their nationality as well. So you can take your backhanded accusation of racism and xenophobia and shove it up your ass. I think that HWs suck because of the state of talent in the division not because the top fighters are white Europeans.

I was not talking about you bro but some of your Peter brethren were spouting that stuff and they are the one that jumped off the Peter bandwagon as soon as he lost a few fights.

You have stuck with Peter and I respect that. I think his new trainer will make a huge difference he had to get rid of Anderson and McKinley who is awful.

    :good

Well good points I cannot deny them. But IMO Wlad somehow ****ed that night himself trying to finish him off and got gassed out himself and the rest is history:rofl. In my eyes fight was in Wlad hands pretty much and boy I was shocked. But of course I cannot take anything away from Lamon, man showed some great heart and was pretty tough guy in tha night:thumbsup
I think Sanders fight is the fight where only fool tries to make any excuses for Wlad. Wlad just got rocked and knocked:-( Sanders will haunt Wlad and his fans for rest of his career, "Wlad slaver" like you said:yep:rofl

It's all good buddy, I know how few of us their are anymore who still support Peter, so I didn't if you were talking about me or not.

I agree, Peter's old team were terrible. I think a new trainer is just what the doctor ordered, Peter's only 28. He's still got time to reinvent himself, I just wish him the best.:good

Fair enough buddy, but you got to remember talent and size isn't everything. Guys like Brewster and Peter both proved that when they fought Wlad and had him hurt at several points during their matches against him. Neither one is half as talented as Wlad, but they both had heart, chin, and power. As well as the fact they weren't afraid to engage with Wlad, and were prepared to take 3 to give 1. This is something very few Wlad oppenents are willing do to try and win.

I would like to see a third Wlad-Brewster fight. If Brewster can string together a few good wins it would be a good idea. There are questions about the first fight and there are questions about the second fight. I think a third fight will settle the questions once and for all. If anything the first two fights were exciting.
