The timing is right. I'm sure Haye would injure something though.

The timing is good, Haye says he wants to fight Vitali and Vitali obviously dislikes Haye would love to beat the crap out of him. No one want´s to see Vitali fight Maskaev, forcing Vitali to defend against him would be a total joke.

I think if Vitali can get outta of wasting his time with Maskaev, Vitali Haye will be made.

Chef has said they are already talking about........both need a *dance partner*, and Haye, certianly, don't want to fight anyone on the lower levels, as it'll risk his titleshots.......... I think Vitali and Haye both see this as the prefect fight for both of them, right now.

Maskaev should have already been knocked out by now. This is the problem with boxing these days the fighters would rather negotiate for months than just fight the ****ing fight and get it over with.

Peter KOed Maskaev in 6 rounds. Vitali came back, COLD, after four years being outta the game...............and battered and beat the man who KOed Maskaev, Peter, so badly he quit after 8 rounds of one sided thrashing.........

So how does that make Maskaev a legit and deserving mandatory defense for Vitali?

The WBC trying to force him to fight Gomez (understandable), then right after that, force him to fight a comedic, beyond laughable mandatory choice in Maskaev is utter bull**** and should be called such.

I think vitali should step up to the plate and fight haye, just because they made haye sign that stupid contract in the first place.

Why didn't Vitali just fight Maskaev already and get it over with? Whats his reason. He fought Gomez 3 months ago, he could have just taken out Maskaev by now and moved on

He only has a few fights left in him, and there is next to zero demand/money in seeing such a one sided mismatch.

As well as being unfair and utterly nonsensical to put the guy Peter just KOed in 6, back to the head of the pack and make him a mandatory for the guy who just thrashed Peter.

I agree ... Vitali got a big break being able to come back and reclaim his title in a single fight. Maskaev shouldn't be in the picture, but he is. Vitali could have eliminated that issue by now with what would probably be a 'keep busy' fight. I know it's weeks of training and he risks injury, but on the other hand a fight in Moscow would generate decent money.

Despite all that. I'd like to see him fight Haye or Valuev now tho.
