So in terms of the amount of prime fighters faced E.G. Razor ruddock as well as winning different belts as HW. when they faced each other was Tyson shot or was Lewis just too good for him??
I'd say overall Lewis has the stronger resume. But Lennox was never, ever as destructive as Tyson was. Tyson was the ultimate B level fighter and below destroyer, and he did things against fighters like Holmes that no one else would ever duplicate.
'Fighters like Holmes'???? Are you sugesting that Holmes is B-Level :? I honestly think that Kid Dynamite would replicate that destructiveness against ATG HW's, I assume you disagree Russell???
Well, let's look at their common opponents. Tony Tucker: Both won easy points decisions. Lewis dropped him twice. Tyrell Biggs: Tyson KO7 Lewis KO3 Frank Bruno: Tyson KO5, KO3 Lewis KO7 Razor Ruddock: Tyson TKO7, UD12 Lewis KO2 Holyfield: Tyson LKO10, LDisq3 Lewis Robbed 12, W12 Frans Botha: Tyson KO5 Lewis KO2 Golota: Tyson KO2 Lewis KO1 Tyson was more dominant against Bruno. Lewis beat all the others easier. Who expected Andrew Golota, who had just beaten the living **** out of Riddick Bowe TWICE, to be annihilated in 90 seconds? After Tyson couldn't convincingly stop him in 17 rounds, who predicted Lewis to punch Ruddock all around the ring and have him out of there in 2? :hat
Yeah but Lewis beat all of those guys AFTER Tyson did, didn't he? Except Botha, and maybe Golota though I can't be bothered to go on Boxrec and find out, if I'm wrong I'm wrong :good
Er, no. I mean that Holmes is a great, great fighter and even if he wasn't at his best against Tyson he was still formidable and Tyson did something to him no one else ever even came close to duplicating.
Lewis easily. I can't even see how this would be debatable. Tyson's biggest achievement was unifying the heavyweight titles, but Lewis did that too. Then on top of that, Lewis beat Holyfield (Tyson's superior), beat everyone he ever faced at some point (Tyson never avenged any of his losses), competed at the top level for longer, and to top it all off clobbered Tyson himself.
Not quite, as Tyson never beat Holyfield. Lewis beat Golota well before Tyson did. Can't remember about Botha though.
