You make it tough, dmt, Joe Brown did so much to help me -- thought the world of 'm.

Lemme put it this way, Ortiz at his best was AWESOME -- the match for anyone at anytime. Head-to-head, Ida been 100% behind Ol' Bones.

Brown looks very impressive mobile ,great jab ,hard accurate punches from both hands good body puncher ,he was a great champ ,but fairly ordinary when he didnt hold the title.Smith looks very static chin up ,high stiff legged , not a very wellschooled fighter imo ,he could punch with his left hook but he wasnt in Old Bones class. Thanks for the viewing!

Thanks for posting this. I haven't seen "old bones" fight for more than 45 years, I guess. One of the best money fighters. In non-title fights, he could be had now and then. With his title on the line, he was something else.

    Ortiz was a bad ass.

You heard right, Carlos won convincingly and was in control throughout the bout. He could have stopped Old Joe too had he really gone for it but he was under orders to let Joe go the distance by the mob.

He was d, but i didn't wanna believe it. Kept expecting-- kept pullin' for him -- to turn the tide. But like Robinson against Joey Archer (his last fight ), he couldn't pull the trigger.

I have always seriously rated him at 135, even with the lack of footage i have viewed, i do think Ortiz was better though, Brown has issues with how their fight unfolded also

thing is that lightweight is such a deep division but Brown IMO definately ranks among the top 15, if not top 10.

Yeah i think top ten is not out of order personally, the inconsistency may be an issue for some, but are many of them fights over the weight? If so then technically speaking they don't take from his legacy at lightweight.........

    wow

it shows you how much the fight scene has changed like you as a young boy could go to your local gym and meet pros and legends there.

Now to see a legend they have an entourage they train behind closed doors, some dont even speak to fans etc...

the fans to fighters link has gone
