How shot is Hatton?

I think though the big difference here is that hatton (due to his shaky defense and Pac's speed) simply did not see Pac's shots coming. And it's usually those shots you don't see coming that do the most damage.

Plus I don't think any jWW could take that KO punch, it was right on the chin, Pac's feet were firmly planted with the punch power coming all the way from his legs. It seemed that by the 2nd round Ricky had recovered from the 2 KD's, but that KO punch was simply brutal. No one in the weight class could take that.

 

Thing is, there's no shame in losing to 2 of the best fighters on the planet. Fraser was destroyed by Foreman but had some great fights with Ali and he's still thought of as an atg.

I think the main problem for Hatton is having to realise he is not the best. That's a hard, hard thing to have to get used to when you've spent your whole life aiming for the top. If he can adjust to the fact that he's just a great fighter not elite then I think he can easily carry on his career. Or if he wants to be elite then get a trainer who is not going to try and change him but work on his weakness and strengthen what he's already got and leave the bingeing behind.

Hatton has had a great career and I don't want him to retire after a loss that brutal. I'd like to see what would happen if you put Hatton in with someone like Amir khan or dare i say Edwin Valero (that would test that chin). I still think he's got a few big fights left in him.

 

He has 2 losses to the two best boxers of his eara.

 

He has looked terrible since the Floyd loss so yes he is semi shot ,from not staying in shape between bouts resulting in not being as physically strong at 140. The body can only do that for so long

 

I think he is on the slide but i still hink he could mix with the top 10 in LWW divison, hes not totally shot. One or two fights, maybe pick up another title then retire with dignity.

Oh and I think that shot would have knocked anyone out had it landed as clean as it did.

I don't recall anyone proclaiming Kosta shot before he fought Hatton. :think

He isn't shot. He just can't beat the top 5 or 6 guys in the sport. That goes along with about 90 percent of boxing

 

hatton loses to manny and all of sudden he is shot?....did he come i nas a dead man against manny like oscar did? NO....did he try to bring it? YES even manny said that after the fight....

did hatton also looked physically not there like morales did against manny in there 3rd fight? NO

Hatton is clearly not shot, he is not the same fighter, and is on a decline....but being ranked number 2 jr, welter in the world, is accurate.

 

He still has a few more fights left in him, but the magic seems to be gone.

 

Hes pretty shot, in fact hes been looking as if he was on the decline ever since his fight with Lazcano where he would have been stopped if the referee was neutral. He should retire, because there's not that many upper echelon junior welterweights i see him beating. Bradley( who i feel i the best junior welterweight) would also beat him, possibly by stoppage.

 

Yes he could be shot, only if the HAttonite accept the fact dat Zoo was shot when he beat the Sydney sider at manchester.

 

I rated his "shotness" an 8. I think Hatton is going to fight a tune-up opponent like Lazcano and he'll get knocked out. His chin is gone. All the yo-yo dieting took away his legs for good. He should just retire.

 

Totally agree- yrs of taking headshots, bad diet catches up at his age - he is not as strong at 140 compared to 5 yrs ago even if he trains like a madman

Anymore fights and it might **** up his speech and long term health.Having said that i would like to see him fight once more (against judah) at catch weight 143-144 and go out on a win
