Isn't it good to see that SE finally follows big ol' Bobs input and have AA fight on US TV to steer up the interest for a fight between Pavlik and Abraham?

Even if it's helped by coincidence (most likely Öner helping to make a deal with SHOWTIME for Abraham vs. Oral; Main Events likely to win a purse bid for Abraham vs. Lorenzo), it looks like work.

According Main Events: They had the chance to make Lorenzo fight Abraham on June 27 instead of Oral taking this position but they wanted $400k instead of taking SE's offer of $260k.
Asumming that Main Events is willing to pay their own fighter this kind of money due to a purse bid for the fight to happen in September, Abraham would get $1.35 mio due to the fact that the champ in IBF mandatories gets a 70:30 split.
To make up for that kind of money, Main Events has to secure at least a TV slot on SHOWTIME, if not HBO.

So could this all lead to an HBO WCB double-header, featuring Pavlik vs. Mora and Abraham vs. Lorenzo? This might very well be the case...but lets wait for the outcome and performance by Abraham on June 27...

Ortiz-Maidana is the best fight on June 27th.

I agree a 100% with you, this is the best fight this month...but isn't it good to have the chance watching Abraham on US television?

Yeah I dont mind it. But of course the only fighter I have any interest in seeing Abraham fight is Pavlik. And likewise, Abraham is the only fighter I care to see Pavlik fight.

A dream double-header that would be, but I'm afraid that's out of question. Main Events outbidding SE, puttin down $1.8M? HBO saying yes to Lorenzo and putting money into that fight? Arum going from BS PPV to HBO WCB? HBO accepting Mora after said a big fat "Get The F*ck Outta Here" a few months ago? I don't think so unfortunately.

Staging Abraham-Lorenzo in the US, on Showtime, that'd make sense, and that's realistic.

If it gives HBO the prospect to make AA vs. Pavlik happen, I guess they will think about it. It's all about AA and how he looks on June 27 - if he gives us a 4-5 rounder with some action and a devasting, highlight reel KO, it's not out of question.

And about Main Events: It is no fantasy on my behalf that they wanted $400k for Lorenzo - so why did they wait for a purse bid in July/August? Plus, they know that the split would be 70:30 in AA's favour...just let us see what Main Events is planning here...

Yep! You are absolutely right in saying this, mate!

I will probably watch Oral vs Abraham live in Germany's capital Berlin, but to be honest I would certainly prefer attending Maidana vs Ortiz to watching Abraham knocking out an overmatched opponent.
Oral is a decent fighter, but he just doesnt play in the Armenian's dimension.

Good, so if Kelley looks good against Mora and Abraham blows out Oral the way hes expected too, it will be a big build up for a fight between the two, sometime at the end of the year. This is definitely a fight that Ive been wanting to see for about two years and its what boxing needs, champions fighting champions.

Are you joking? I see some names, but I also see three showcase fights on the televised card, and the one competitive looking fight is between two guys known for having boring styles.

    *bump*

This might really kick off the AA vs. Pavlik (at least media) hype again in the US...and it's there where it matters...
