This is why Hall of fames should all be structered like pyramids. With the very good guys ala Hatton and Gatti on the bottom level and the Immortals. Ala Ali and SRR on the tiop level

Ring Magazine had a HOF update a few months back, looking at who will and won't get in and why. I think they were right saying that Hatton will get in on popularity. Simply put he's the most popular British fighter in the past 10 years not named Hamed. His wins are overrated, his talent underrated but overall he doesn't belong. I'm a big ricky fan but it would be a shame for him to get in.

Hatton hasn't announce his retirement yet so he still has a chance. If he fights again and beat witter and bradley then i can see him getting in for sure.

Right now he has a chance to get in with wins over tzsyu-castillo-maussa-collazo-mallignaggi.

Gatti belongs in Hall for what he did for the sport:!:. A lot of people will disagree, but he's a legend. Ricky is an everyman who took a little a long way. But he's not on Gatti's level.

see i agree with this, but i put hatton ahead of gatti for this exact reason.....i think ricky gave a ton to the sport.

I don't know. Gatti ranks highly for me for his courage and most importantly the dozen fight of the year candidates he's given us. I can't say that about ricky

Hatton will get in alright, fighters get in based more on what they have done for the sport rather than in the sport!

    I'll bet a £1000 he gets in.
IMO the hall of fame should be for the All Time Greats of the sport, which Hatton clearly isn't. However it isn't the case. Hall of Fame is for the most famous boxers really not the greatest. The money he's generated throughout the sport and the way he has brought such large/passionate following all the way over to Las Vegas for the fights he did is pretty special. He doesn't have the worst resume and pretty much was the best 140lb'er for a good few years. Whether or not he's lost twice the argument he'll use is that the only losses he's got are to the 2 greatest fighters of the last few years who are both 'locks' for the Hall.

Hatton has very good financial clout ...

{Fans = dollars = tourism = visits to the HOF} ..... Hatton will get in for all the wrong reasons.
