Yeah? let me ask you something: Have you EVER seen a Pryor fight? Be honest. Because you can pretty much only see fragments of them on youtube, if you're going to pretend you know something about him you have to have ordered his career set, or AA's career set, like I have. And I really believe that about 90% of Pryor's supporters have never seen the man in an actual boxing match.

Also, I don't understand the basic brain disconnect that HAS to happen when you talk in one breath about him being a great fighter, and in the next breath you're forced to acknowledge that he was a damn dirty cheat and never fought ANY good fighters still in their prime. And that he was taking on bums in the middle of his career, guys with LOSING RECORDS.

The only real explanation is that his 'fans' really REALLY like his mustache and his little pose before the bell. Because there really is NOTHING other than that that would make anyone believe he's a great fighter.

Duran had his eyeballs on the moneymaker,Leonard. That's why he completely jumped over 140.Pryor was a very talented boxer-puncher.He even owns an amateur decision over Tommy Hearns, not that amateur results should have anything to do with comparing professional fighters.

Pryor had an offer of like $700-800k to fight Duran at one point, which was more than Leonard had offered him ($500k). I think this was around 1981-82 and would've been at 150 lbs, so Pryor would've jumped 10 lbs.

Pryor had managerial issues to deal with, and by the time it got sorted out, the deal was off the table and Duran looked elsewhere.

Proyr beats everyone at 140. The only boxers that can beat at him are at 147. SRL, Thomas Hearns, SSM, and maybe a prime ODLH. SSM against Pryor at 140 would be a great match.

I agree with Bernie on this one. And Ive supported Pryor in these same boards and have seen him fight. But he does get overrated somehow because his"stamina" and ability to absorb punishment is great.

And someone mentioned he throws from all angles lol., the man throws straight and thats it. His defense is non existent, and if Arguello was able to carry his power from 135, Aaron would have been out the first couple of rounds. His resume w/o AA would have been as journeymans resume.

As for his amateur career, too much has been made of him beating Hearns when they were both 15 lol.
