    After reading the nonsense spouted out by Bert Sugar, I thought Id see the popular view on ESB as to who is the better fighter between 2 southpaws, Pernell Whitaker & Manny Pacquiao.

    For me its clearly Whitaker.

    What do you guys think ? :think

    Agreed, whitaker. Pacquiao is great and building quite a legacy. But Whitaker is one of the greatest lightweights ever, untouchable in his prime and a possible top 10 atg.

    i have no hate for whitaker and i saw him beat chavez live but i have to say that on esb he is way overated. i understand how one solid poster can fawn all over him and a couple of less informed posters figure "hey if this guy says he is the best then he must be great" and it snowballs from there.
    as far as being better than pac, i will have to see how pac wraps up his career.

    As of right now, I rank Whitaker higher.

    We'll see what happens in the future. Pacquiao has surprised me enough times already.
