Former three-time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito is not going into details but says that he plans to return to the ring in September. Margarito had his license revoked in February by the California State Athletic Commission during a hearing to rule on whether he attempted to cheat prior to the January 24 bout with Shane Mosley. Two hard inserts were found in Margarito's handwraps. An illegal hard substance was*discovered on the inserts. They were later tested and found to contain elements that would make plaster of Paris. Margarito has mantained that he was innocent of the charges and the inserts were placed in his wraps withouth his knowledge - by former trainer Javier Capetillo.

Margarito is currently involved in a legal battle with the CSAC, trying to reclaim his license. He is confident that his license will be returned by the CSAC.

"I haven't stopped training because I think I'll get my license back this month from*the California State Athletic Commission. My lawyers are working on that. I did not commit any*[illegal] acts*in the dressing (before my*fight against Shane Mosley) and of course that I'm staying very quiet on the situation," Margarito said to ESTO. "I will return in September. Next week my*promoters will tell me who my opponent will be. I want to fight a*ten rounder and then compete*for a world title.

"He doesn't care who the opponent is, but he wants a big opponent next, like Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley or Manny Pacquiao.

"I have no preference, but I want*a rematch with Mosley, with Cotto, or*to fight with Manny Pacquiao because Mexico wants a Mexican to beat him and*Antonio Margarito is here," Margarito said.

If he gets cleared and he gets his license back why not.

But I don't think that would happen because if it does . . . California State Athletic Commision will lose it's credibility. :D
