Chagaev is quite good really, not sure what the problem is with the matchup HOWEVER I can see the business problem. To build up the Sultan fight they had to work really hard with a long lead in, they don't have that chance here so whilst they will accept a hard sell they won't accept an impossibly short hard sell... Business sense really, nothing to do with the fighters or belts If I was them I'd think about leading with "CHAGAEV HAS HEPETITUS, IF HE CANT TAKE WLAD OUT IN THE RING CAN HE KILL HIM OUT OF IT" That would probs generate a bit of quick interest lolz
if haye were considered the lb for lb #1 I wouldnt be arguing with you. more reason why your pac example was so terrible. it's how he was "in charge" or cruiserweight (almost not at all, just 1 good win), the fact that he was "in charge" is almost irrelevant here.

Why blame HBO?They are entitled to show whatever fight that pleases them,and they PAY.This gives ESPN or SHOW an opportunity to prove them wrong if the fight is as exciting as some predict.Personally,I think it will be incredibly boring.
big problem is that they'll show a fight like dawson tarver 2 (boring and insignificant) and turn this down (at least this is definitely significant and might not be boring).
The opening post is a prime example of what I was talking about. You Wlad whiners are missing the point. I don't blame Wlad for wanting to fight Chagaev. It's a bigger payday for the guy, if he can of course win Chagaev's WBA belt, which would give us fans something we haven't had for a long while - a lineal heavyweight champion.
