Do you think Margarito will someday be forgiven just as Mosley was?

Margarito's trainer also "admitted" Margarito did not know about the loaded gloves, why the double standards.

I don't think he should even be allowed to fight again, let alone forgiven. Fuk him. :fire

When Margarito fights again and if he looks good he will be forgiven. If he looks great and picks up another title and shows the same tenacity and hard shots he was known for before, then only the die hard haters will still be making a stink over this. The boxing world has a short term memory and Marg is an entertaining enough fighter that he should be able to rise up again. This all depends on his next couple of fights. If he looks like the old Margarito then it puts in question the whole "loaded gloves" thing. If he comes in punching like Malignaghi than his career is over.

What does that have to do with you making a false and inaccurate statement?

Yo JM, I am not here defending Margarito, I just want to be clear, what he "tried"to do was wrong, and any fan should realize that, but there is a DOUBLE-STANDARD that is really obvious here. Is it the hate for Mexicans in general, because I read a couple of racist comments, just wondering.

One, loaded gloves is a hell of a lot more serious. Two, that's what his trainer said. He has not sued his former trainer for loading his gloves without his knowledge now has he? Shane has took his situation to court and is so far, winning. Why not Margarito if he really didn't do it? Why not take a lie detector?

It doesn't matter why he wasn't fined or suspended; Mosley cheated. He admitted it. The only question is whether he knew it or not:

Margaritos crime is obviously much more severe because he could have very seriously hurt someone. At the very best Mosley unintentionally took something that he shouldn't have, but it still doesn't make everything okay.

I don't think there can be a double standard when what they each did was quite different. Loading gloves is seen as far worse than anything else you can do in boxing. If Margarito acted the same way Shane does, yes he might get more sympathy, but I don't think "hating Mexicans" is a part of it.

People who hate Margarito will hate him regardless. The question is will he ever be forgiven by former fans? I don't know. I doubt it. If he came back and beat a top fighter, his record would at least be redeemed somewhat in the eyes of a lot of people though, even if he is not forgiven.

I bring it up because I don't see threads that say, should a convicted violent criminal/****** be banned from boxing? Yes he is a piece of ****, I AM NOT DEFENDING Margarito, I am just saying, MOSLEY also cheated, I don't care if he is winning in court, by the way, there is absolutely no proof, someone who takes steroids, CAN'T hurt or KILL someone in the ring. Do you have any proof a boxer on steroids is less lethal or on par then one whitout?

Well, so far, each civil case points to Shane not knowingly doing it. Margarito hasn't done anything to prove he didn't know. He would be suing his former trainer in a heartbeat if he didn't know. At least I would.

Though I don't represent his entire fan base, I was a big Margarito fan. Unless he can somehow prove that his gloves weren't loaded he will never win me back. There's just no excuse for it.

There are guys like freddy, though, that won't believe his gloves were loaded.
