LOL Floyd 154 is Manny 147. First of all we need to remember that Pac skipped two weight classes. Lets say we forget about Pac 112 days and start him at 122. 147 to Pac would still be like Floyd 160.

    You know what
I bet Calzaghe would come out of retirement if Floyd would do 160-165.

Big mistake . . . fighting at 147 is way out of the guy's limit. He has already step up to the plate more than a couple of times and 140 is his limit.

If Pac fights at 147 . . . he is a dead meat. :deal

could be that your right, but he is planning on retiring soon, i'm sure if he fights floyd it will be at 147, like he did hatton, when ricky was the man at 140.....why not fight at least one top guy at 147 if your retiring soon?

and i think there is not much difference between 144-145 vs 147

try 9 divisions...147 would be his tenth division

    9 light welterweight
    8 lightweight
    7 super featherweight
    6 featherweight
    5 super bantamweight
    4 bantamweight
    3 super flyweight
    2 flyweight
1 light flyweight (pac- pro debut 107 pounds)

I agree, Mosley is a considerably bigger man and after coming in at 147 he will rehydrate to around 160....a middleweight limit :blood....whereas PAC will come in at 145 at weigh in and then come back 152 on the fight night, these kinds of weight advantages are huge for boxers.

Joshua Clottey weighed in at 170 on fight night when he fought Corrales....thats a whooping 23 lb gain in weight....

IMO Catch weight is necessary for Mosley vs Pac

i just dont get it.....first it was pac cant fight david at 135.....david diaz for christ sakes.......then it was hatton will be too big for pac at 140......

why not mosley at 147? since he has shown he can bring his offense up at 147.....

i think this "weight advantage" stuff gets way overplayed in boxing, and pac is exposing it.

The thing is, Hatton only outweighed Pac by something like 5 lbs on fight night. Pac actually outweighed OLDH during their fight.

Based on their last fight night weight, Mosley will outweight Pac by a whopping 13 lbs! Add that to Mosley has a 7 inch reach advantage and something like a 3 inch high advantage. That just seems way too much.

Sure the weight advantage can get overplayed. But at some point, someone will be just too big compared to the other fighter.

maybe your right, but mosley is not the type of guy that wil try to use there weight and height advatage, mosley is a boxer, not a pressure style type fighter, like hatton was and diaz is like the poor man's hatton....and oscar reasoning was to try and use his height advantage, and it didnt work, but i understand the circumstances surrounding oscar.

Wrong buddy, moving up in weight to compete is very hard. If it wasn't that hard, Hatton and Cotto would be fighting at middle weight already. Pacquiao is really just that good. We as a boxing fans are starting to get too selfish, we want to see Pacquiao keep moving up in weight and see how far he can go. I bet after 147 we now want him to test 154.
