How many rounds will Kotelnik realistically have to win to get a decision?

Listen Kahn is a good little fighter.......and in terms of finance will be able to help his family for most of there lives.

BUT he is heavily promoted becuase of crossover potential with being a pakistani brit and having such succes at an early age in the olympics.

A long with good looks and Warren behind him creates this kind of simulacra of a real fighters fighter. Like the way they built heavyweight Neilson up in Denmark or Sven Ottke in Germany.

 

Ok, it's just in your other post you said 'Khan's first defence will be against Rees, second against...'. I was just pointing out that he may not even get to having a first defence, although I hope he does. :good

 

Yeah im talking in Theory.....my main point is its careful matchmaking making it out to be a world champion of some sort and making defences when in reality its against guys that are washed up or from smaller weights.

 

So you think that Kotelnik is either smaller or washed up...which is it?

Bit like fighting a Botha or gatti and to grab a title (they both held title at one point or another) and then calling yourself a great fighter

 

He is NOT a limited light-welterweight, and it's statements like that which will degrade Khan's victory (if he wins), when it would be unfairly justified to do so.

 

gatti is a legend....who gave us wars, and had incredible will/heart....lock for the hall.

 

just hope we dont get the ref jumping in a bit prematurely....can see kotelnik under pressure in the early rounds ....but riding the storm.

 

Kotelnik's pretty decent. He was patient with Rees and beat the **** out of him from round 4 on. His last fight was fantastic where he showed a lot of heart and a good chin.

He's world-class for LWW. Lacks the work-rate of Bradley or the power of Holt, but his skills, defence and timing are first class.

 

Didn't Khan have to strip to make 135 for Barrera? Can't seem him going back down to lightweight, he is huge at that weight.

 

Course he bloody is.........have you watched him? Do you rate F. Botha when he was a champ?

 

Not as hard to be in the HOF in all fairness.....it really should be reserved for top top fighters who achieved godly like things in boxing.

Joe Louis, Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Hagler etc

 

yes I have seen him against witter, rees and maidana. I suggest you watch these fights before calling him 'limited', you know he has only got an Olympic silver medal, won the world title and defended it against top class opposition. Also his losses are disputed (I scored the witter fight to kotelnik), but if you consider that limited...

Biggest worry in terms of Kotelnik getting a fair shake is ref stopping if Khan lands a flurry.
