What's not to say past prime Mayorga doesn't have a better chin than Margarito?

Prime Mayorga's chin was tested by Lewis, Forrest, and Spinks. Honestly, I'm not sure it stands up to the clean counters Cotto was bouncing off of Margarito. See the Hoya fight for what happens to Mayorga when he doesn't see them coming.

Of course, the Mosley results make this point seem non-debatable, but Mosley loses steam at 154.

Mayorga ate some shots from Tito that I dont think Margo could have taken so i will say yeah!

But they both have unreal chins that is for sure.

Mayorga was past his prime after Trinidad.

what about when he let tito hit him freely with the huge left hooks, and tito is one of the p4p hardest hitters EVER.

Mayorga wa spast it after Trinidad so the de la Hoya fight is irrelevant.
Plus he was poorly trained for that one.

to be fair ..............that opnly lasted like 5 seconds until tito cracked him a real good one and then he was wobbly after that, his legs were jelly, as he backed off into the ropes.

How many flush shots can a man take?
He took 3 FREE SHOTS then started lifting his arms but because of the hooks he wa salready stunned so still got hit about 3 times. So that 6 flkush shots in what?10 seconds?
I'd say not going down showed his chin was awesome.

Punching power can't be ranked p4p, since the hardest hitters of all time are among cruiser- and heavyweights, of course.

Tough one. Mayorga maybe. Taking a series of flush, fully feet planted, power shots off Tito probably edges it.

That was part of Mayorga's act. It was hilarious, I loved it, and it's obviously not something Amir Khan should try at home, but it's not a great way to gauge a chin. The true test is walking through the shots you don't see coming.

You are probably right that Mayorga had a better chin, but prime for prime at 147, not 154, I think Margarito's was tested more severely. All I'm saying.
