I agree Dariuz was the man when Jones jumped to Light Heavy....but Jones overtook him

when Dariuz career slumped into that all to familiar ....Calzaghe comfort zone matchmaking.

Jones overtook him beating the "other guys" that mattered and not relinquishing his belt...hence Jones easil became the man....and Dariuz became one of Jones left overs(Julio Gonzalez ) victim

Just like he knocked out Telesco? Del Valle? And a host of other bums?

Michalczewski likely loses to Jones, but if anyone gets knocked out it is Jones for sure.

Michalczewski had one of the best jabs of that decade, and he could set up his big left hook behind it. DM could have finished Jones with one shot, IF he got it to land.

Overall RJJ was just to quick and creative in his prime, however. Roy would win by competetive UD, but DM would be in with a serious puncher's chance.

DM had plenty of one-punch KOs. He was known more for his pressure style and wearing opponents down, but he had the power to knock out any Lightheavyweight if he landed flush, particularly with his left hand.

Combine that with Jones subpar chin at Lightheavyweight and you have to give DM a puncher's chance, IMO.

Jones had no Chin he would get brutally KOed. That is why the fight never happened. HBO called him Reluctant Roy for a reason.

i think it would be competitive actually, but i think it would go out like the Hopkins fight. With Roy winning about 8 rounds. Dariusz WOULD NOT KNOCK ROY OUT......HE'LL LAND SOME NICE PUNCHES BUT NOT ENOUGH TO KNOCK HIM OUT. I'M NOT SAYING HE CAN'T KNOCK HIM OUT BUT JONES WAS TOO FAST. ANYBODY WITH HEAVY HANDS CAN KNOCK OUT ANYBODY IN THEIR WEIGHT CLASS IF THEY CATCH THEM OF COURSE. ROY STILL HAD A BETTER CHANCE OF KO'ING DARIUSZ THEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

One of the best match-ups never made.

    It goes the distance.

Roy, 7-5 on some cards, 8-4 on others.

Dariusz Michalczewski is overrated, he lost to Julio Gonzalez, if he couldn't beat Julio Gonzalez, he won't beat Roy Jones Jr.

In his second to last fight at the age of 36 all while being a shot fighter.

Roy lost to Glen who lost to countless fighters..does that mean those countless fighters have a good chance at beating Roy?It just doesnt work that way.

Using Gonzalez as an example just doesnt float(for some reason this tends to pop up in every discussion).

It wasn't prime Michalczewski dude, read the topic's name. Michalczewski had one of the best jab those years, also strong right hand, so if he landed a punch on Roys head it could be over.

Julio Gonzales' win over DM you can compare to Mayweather's win over DLH. Michalczewski was better, but they considered Gonzales as a winner, kinda robbery. W/e
