I can understand why people call Chagaev the White Tyson, and I guess it's because the way he holds his hands, but after that, there is nothing that would depict a Tysonesque image.

For one, Chagaev is more straight up, and a very conventional 1-2 puncher that lacks the aggression, speed, and offensive versatility of Tyson.

Chagaev is also not nearly as quick with his headmovement, and obviously doesn't have near the power that Tyson had to knock his opponents out.

His tenativeness, combined with his southpaw stance, and his basic 1-2 punches being his bread and butter will make this a mismatch against Klitschko.

Don't get me wrong, against other opponents in the heavyweight division, Chagaev looks decent...

    Take Povetkin for example.

How Povetkin is so highly rated on this board is out of control considering he looks so amatuer with his lack of headmovement, stiffness of his body, arm punching, and pressure fighting which usually involves him standing right in front of his opponent.

Chagaev also looks better than Chambers who looks even lesser than Povetkin.

But Chagaev should not have the moniker of "The White Mike Tyson" because he doesn't have the skills nor the athleticism to fight the way Tyson did. Tyson moved in quickly, but rarely had to step out because it was his opponent who moved away, not Tyson, because Tyson had the power, speed, and tenacity to pulverise his opponent on the inside.

Chagaev; however, is tenative, and doesn't have the offensive arsenal that an effective inside fighter should have. He doesn't seem very versatile as he mainly relies on very basic 1-2 punching which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is when you're fighting a guy who is fast enough to get away from you with his feet, and also employs the same 1-2 punching gameplan.

Not to mention the fact that Chagaev is a southpaw, and Wlad is a 6'6'' or 6'7'' EXTREMELLY tenative orthadox fighter which means that the distance between Chagaev's left hand and Klitschko's body is just that much farther away.

And considering Chagaev isn't a bully type of fighter, he's going to find out right away how difficult it for him to effectively open up on Klitscko with such a limited punching arsenal and a lack of hand and footspeed, that it may even make him more tenative.

Seeing as Klitschko is unwilling to engage anyone that has a pulse for the most part, this fight may very well be a repeat of Klitschko-Ibriganov.

But with Ibriganov, who admittely sometimes had bad footwork as he crossed his legs, he was faster, a better counterpuncher, and had more power and more versatile offense than Chagaev yet due to his own tenativeness and Klitschko's ascaredness as well, they were both completely reluctant to engage.

Chagaev is an easy fight for Klitschko and Klitschko knows this.

How this is a good fight......

    Be real.....

    It's not.

Haye on the other hand, while he doesn't have the style of Tyson DOES have the style to beat Wlad, especially with his combination of speed and power.

I won't get into the details of that though because it is too ****IN OBVIOUS.

Anyway......say what ya'll got to say.

this quote explain why chagaev is called white tyson.

"Chagaev said of his hero Tyson: When I was child, I loved Mike Tyson. He was my idol and I was in awe of his raw power.

I used to read everything I could about him and I had his pictures on my wall. When I started boxing, people in the gym said I had a similar body to him and thats where my nickname came from.

The 29-year-old added: I have always wanted to be like him and my aim is to go on from here and be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world."

Would someone put this ****** out of his misery?

Look, I am a big Haye fan like you. We are great fans. But Klitschko is fighting for another World title. Klitschko is doing the best he can since Haye is unavailable and the fight is on short notice.

I guess they have similar bodies. Like they both have two arms and two legs, and two eyes and a head... He should get a new nickname. Something like... "The (less) White Botha"

Chagaev looked quite impressive as an amatuer I must say.. I just watched his winning effort against Felix Savon and it was quite entertaining and impressive.

Oh, Chagaev was good and I was impressed with him with the Valuev win. His tactics and technique were very good.

But he's never been the same since. Injuries have potentially robbed him of his best years. I'm disappointed but it's true.

A fighter who beat the great Savon certainly has a chance to beat Wlad, too.

Besides up to now he hasnt lost a single fight in the paid ranks .................unlike your great hero and idol David Haye.

As you may know he was the first fighter who beat Valuev.
Chagaev has a proven track record both at the amateurs and the pros.
Whats more he has a very capable coach who knows the Klitschko brothers very well.

Wlad is picking Chagaen on a short notice while Haye back out the fight cause of his injuries. You say weeks ago that Wlad should wait for Haye by july 11? Well it isn't true cause Haye will have to start training by the end of july. So What's Wlad suppost to do? Wait very long to september to wait for Haye? Imo i don't think Chagaev can beat Wlad but i give him a better chance cause Chagaev is a very smart underrated fighter while Haye is too easy to get hit clean. If you don't believe me axe then how come old shot Barrett was able to land alot of clean shots at Haye? I got a question axe, why don't Haye Fight Povetkin? If Haye beats Povetkin then Haye will be the mandatory challenger for Wlad title.
