I love Cotto as a fighter but something tells me that this fight will bring out the best in Clottey and I can see Clottey pulling out the win in a hard to score fight.

    Who wins and why?

I say Cotto. Hes been underrated ever since he lost to tony. The whole hand wrap thing has reinvigorated him and given him extra confidence. I see possibly the best cotto every coming out and punishing clottey to the body eventually slowing him down and ko'ing him in the late rounds...and it would be a great win.

I'm backing my boy Clottey...Reasons being he's more durable and can take a punch...Its all going to boil down who can take the other fighters shots because this is going to be one hell of a fight.

Yep the Madison Square Garden lights are going to shine off Clotteys big ass head when it hits the canvas.

Im a Cotto fan but this is gonna be a battle and Clottey can hang with him. I think Clottey beats him though, he'll put some pressure, defense will alwyas be up, and he has a great uppercut which Cotto gets hit with alot. If Cotto is gonna do some body punching then he better watch those uppercuts. We'll see what happens, and its right around the corner!!!

Clottey wins by split decision only because the fight is in NYC. Anywhere else it would be a UD.

Clottey takes a split or unanimous decision in a close fight. I believe Cotto will try to attack the body but Clottey has good D and will block those shots, while racking in points. Cotto will come out very aggressive and tire down late in the fight, which is when clottey will secure the win.

Don't be surprised however if while trailing, Cotto lands a couple of strong low blows to slow and drain Clottey (this is what he did against Zab). Should this happen, Cotto may take a dirty win. It will not be a respectable win though.

Why would he do this against Clottey and not Margarito?

It's funny how people repeatedly bring up Cotto's low blows against Zab. Yet they seem to be unaware of Clottey being DQ'd for low blows and headbutts against Baldomir, his foul festival against Richar Gutierrez where the ref was on the verge of DQing him, or the numerous times where Margarito would dig to Clottey's body and Joshua would counter with a low blow, headbutt, or both.

At this point and time it's still a 50/50 fight for me. I'm picking Cotto because I'm more of a Cotto fan . . . but I don't have problem if Clottey wins.

. . . and you are right Clottey's time to shine . . . if he gets the win he'll get the recognition he needs. He is gonna be a legitimate big name at welter.

Clottey is a huge dude, he will try to get on the inside and work Cotto's body and throw short punches up close

I see Cotto backbeddaling most of the fight like he did against Mosley

I cant pick a winner here, but im leaning towards Cotto taking a close decition since its puerto rican day parate the next morning, or Clottey will need to knock him out

Clottey will need a KO to beat Cotto at MSG on the eve of the Puerto Rico Day parade. Even then, they'd probably lift Cotto from the canvas and claim that he'd slipped. Cotto by UD.
