it would be fun seeing toney give it a go, chagaev vs wlad is like walking a grandma to the liquor store.

Toney is history . . . he won't even survive Arreola at this point.

NO . Toney is a fat slob that should not be fighting for any title.

Unification is more exciting to me, a fight with Toney is worth nothing right now.

Chagaev can bring more entertainment at this stage than Toney, Toney is a counter puncher so if that fight happens it might be a slow fight with not much entertainment, Toney will look to fight safe all the way and for logical reasons as he's far smaller. Chagaev tends to be more aggressive when he opens up and more active.

yea i just would like to see all fan-fare that toney brings, chagaev doesnt bring anything to the party except to hand over the wba strap to wlad after he gets a beat down, toney gets beat down too, but at least it worth watching.

Toney had a chance to beat Vlad. James would not be knocked out easily and would have tested Vlad's chin. I give James a chance.

Toney got outboxed by Sam Peter in the rematch.

    SAM PETER!

JT is done. Wlad would massacre him and feck his speech up even worse than it is already. At least with Chagaev there is the slim, slim chance that he could pull off the upset. Plus its for heavyweight unification, which is more appealing than seeing Toney flattened.

Toney was a special fighter in his day - but that time has long gone.
The only thing entertaining about this would be Toney's trash-talk because he just can't do it in the ring anymore.
He looked God-awful against Oquendo and was lucky to get the decision. At this point Chagaev is superior heavyweight in every way imaginable - and this will be a more entertaining fight than Wlad-Toney would be.

give me a in shape james toney any day over chagaev. i flippin love toney. his style, his ability. now mind me this is a in shape toney. this kind of toney gives wlad problems more than chagaev. chagaev does not seem to bob and weeve that much which makes him a much easier target to hit rather toney brings a more defensive skill set to the table and makes things interesting. i think a in shape FOCUSED toney gives fight fans their moneys worth.

I think even if Toney somehow found the motivation to get in shape (which at this point just isn't going to happen) it might just be too late.
He's still got enough about him to last the distance with Wlad but that's about it.
I'd take the Toney that fought Holyfield to beat Wlad though.
