Stylistically it has the potential to be. Gatti tried to wait for Floyd, and Marquez' style calls for basically the same. If he tries to pull the waiting game, he's going to get beat to the punch everytime, and it aint gonna be pretty. But Marquez can switch it up when need be, and that's what separates him from Gatti.

Anyways, replying to the original thread - I think it will be a closer fight than most people think. Mayweather Sr. might be right but he even said it himself "Marquez is a Mexican and Mexicans come to fight". No truer words have been said, Mexicans got big cojones and Marquez will show up to fight, not collect money...

There is a lot of factors that a lot of people seem to be forgetting.
Mayweather is known to hurt his hand in fights and if he did become a one handed fighter after 4 rounds I dont think he would survive for 12 rounds against Marquez

I can see Marquez not having any success early but the longer the fight goes things might open up for him but I dont see Marquez winning.

After the fight if Mayweather wins easily I dont think alot of boxing people are going to give Floyd any credit but we will just have to wait and see.

I am looking forward to this fight and also looking forward to how Floyd avoids the questions about who's next.

:nut Prety damn shameful to compare a figher like Gatti to a great one like Marquez. JMM is simply levels above where Gatti was even at his peak.

? But Marquez is perhaps one of the best counterpunchers in the business - why wouldn't he use his best tool? Sometimes I think Mayweather just spouts rubbish. It makes me think he hasn't even seen Marquez box???? How can he say something that ignorant?

he makes a ton of mistakes, its just nobody can captalize except for marquez, morales, and the 2 midgets that beat him, its not hate its facts, manny is not that great of a thinker when it comes to ring iq.....but boxing is not a spelling bee.

he doesn't make too many mistakes now. he has steadily inproved throughout his career. for a crude slugger in his early days, pac has become a more calculating boxer-puncher now and he is still improving with every fight. and those 2 midgets were more than a decade ago when pac was still a crude slugger. pac is at least 10x a better fighter now than he was then.

morales beat him when he was still a one-handed fighter. this was still enough though to KO barrera in 03 and get a draw w/ jmm.

if you can't see pac's improvement throughout the years, then you have too much hate blinding you.

He wants to show that he hates but the reality is..he wants to be hated just like the rest of the **** swinging ***ots in this site..

unfortunately with all those bitching and attention whoring, i already know his agenda and am not buying his bullshits at all..

i agree he has improved, he is still off balance when he throws the power left, he STILL has suspect defense, that IMO has never nor will never improve.......marquez has improved as well since that "draw"....and marquez totally schooled pac in the second meeting, through countering and ring intelligence was far more superior to manny....

dont let nuthuggery blind you, and i do like manny, and think he is great, but he does have some distinct flaws.
