Why is everyone so keen to see it it would just be another bit of cherry picking by Floyd right? Because Mannys smaller or when he outboxes Pacquiao it was because he was smaller to the fight that should be made is Floyd vs Mosley but if Floyd won Mosley would be over the hill right? Simpley put Mayweather cant win with the critics.
No matter how big Pac's opponent is he can neutralize that as being small be relying on his abilities so Pac is no cherry pick to Floyd so if Floyd beats him no excuses.
if fighting pacman is cherry picking then every other fight would be too. there are three people in the world i feel have a shot at beating floyd. williams, cotto and pacquiao. pacquiao is on the top on my list becuase hes got the speed power technique and he is ****ing relentless with his stamina.
Ppl dont like floys so he gets a lot less credit than he deserves at times, you're right whoever he fights he's gna get criticized marquez (2nd best p4p) - too small mosley (best ww) - over the hill pacquiao (arguably #1 p4p) - too small he cant win
Of course he can win against the critics by fighting the most avoided man who everyone is avoiding and that is Paul Williams and if he went upto 154lbs to do it and fight at a disadvantage physicaly then what critic would ever question Floyd if he won. But we all know that will never happen so we have to settle for Floyd vs a lightweight instead of a welterweight or JMW:deal
i think its big for boxing, but it would be the second coming of trinadad-oscar 2....a fight that never lived up to the hype....pac/floyd will be boring once it happens IMO
I still believe the hardest welter for Floyd would be Shane. Him winning or losing, I'd give him credit. Just getting in the ring with Shane, that's enough for me. [Of course getting in the ring and fighting, lol].
if any critic would still give pbf **** if he chooses to fight paul williams at welter, i'll start a petition to lynch that critic
I do agree with you in the sense of this fight being overhyped because lets break this **** down. What exactly has Pac done to be getting spoken about so much? He beat Oscar when he wasn't supposed to in theory and if you take away Oscars name and look at him as a fighter then that wasn't a hard fight and did not prove anything but we did see a new Pac in there in the way he was fighting. Then if you look at Hatton, look at his style and forget about his name, that style was tailor made for Pac. Now look at Floyd, Floyd has the best defense in the business. A Floyd vs Pac fight is a big mismatch and anyone who cant see this is following media hype or they are filled with the hope that someone can finally compete with Floyd. Pac wont win and he will be made to look several levels lower in terms of actual boxing skills. You cant become a complete boxer in 2 fights, so if you see things for what they are, the way Floyd is acting is all part of manipulating us into thinking that he dont want no part of Pac but he fully well knows that it will be an easy payday but he has to sell us the fight and he seems to be doing a good job of it by acting as if he is avoiding the pac questions. Anyway, it is clear to see that Marquez will not win due to the careful matchmaking strategy that has always been applied to pick Floyds opponents so dont be expecting any miracles. Ask yourselves this, if Pac struggled to beat Marquez twice at a lower weight, what makes you think he has developed that quickly in just 2 or 3 fights with tailor made opponents for him to then be able to out think Floyd in the ring, no chance. pac will be broken down after 6 rounds and end up like Hatton was, stopped late by TKO...or Freddie might throw the towel in.
Pbf need also to fight Pavlik so he can win the critics, PBF has more critics than the people living in Vatican, IMHO.
After the Marquez fight, The demand for a Pacquiao fight will be none. 32/33 year old Mayweather & his camp are getting ahead of themself. (They expect him to be the same, I defo expect a flawed ready to go version) regardless of JMM age/size, has been an active in-ring fighter against the best. where as floyd has been on a CP mission over the last couple yr's including his 2 year layoff. I don't expect a PBF that most do.
so pac didnt do **** when he defeated dlh and hatton? it foolish to think that the pac who fought jmm at 126 or even at 130 is still the same guy. yes, fighters can improve in 2-3 fights. pac did. the difference between the pac who sd'd jmm and the pac that kod hatton is night and day. not because hatton is a shitty fighter but because pac fine tuned his game. the first hatton knockdown tells you that pac has improved. in the first fight against jmm, he only used his right hand to measure for his left, in the second fight, he used it to little success, now it knocked down a the top dog at 140 who has not been knocked down at that weight. no improvement???
