could he of beaten that tyson. i know tyson was out of shape but he still nearly won it with an uppercut. i dont see wlad surviving such a blow
Douglas could move ten times better than Wlad. Tyson would have been right on top of Wlad and he would have fallen apart.
wlad has never seen anything close to tyson. and dont any body say lennox lewis. the tyson that fought lewis was done. the version that fought douglas was still noteworthy, i mean **** he had douglas beat in the eighth round, the ref did an extremly long count. i would love to see tyson use wlad like a crayon in the parking lot. wlad is overrated , i hope chagaev lands a bomb than sends wlad back to the ukraine.
Your kidding right? Insert Wlad into the 80's and how well does he do? Sure he can dominate a boxing match, but the guy cant fight worth a lick.
your crazy heres a few that could dispose of wlad that tyson fought Michael Spinks,Frank Bruno,Carl Williams,Donovan Ruddock,Evander Holyfield,Larry Holmes,Tyrell Biggs,Tony Tucker,Pinklon Thomas,James Smith,Trevor Berbick are all great fighters that could beat wlad.
He can box and hold. He cant fight. If he could fight he wouldnt have drowned against Brewster and Sanders, and wouldn't have been knocked from pillar to post by Peter. Like I said, the guy is one of the best boxers ever, hes amazingly quick with his left hand and has a booming right hand, but he becomes an average fighter when the fight gets rough and hes forced to not fight on his terms.
Tyson probably gets mullered here. It would be a different kind of fight to the Douglas fight, but I can't really see Wlas losing this one.
1. Michael Spinks - Past his prime and didn't exactly show up looking to take the title. 2. Larry Holmes - 38 years old, hadn't fought in 2 years. 3. Carl Williams - Uh, NO. 4. Pinklon Thomas - On a downward spiral, and isn't beating Wlad 5. Trevor Berbick - doubtful 6. James Smith - Wlad takes a decision 7. Tony Tucker - Wlad by decision 8. Razor Ruddock - Could be dangerous, but I'd favor Wlad 9. Evander Holyfield - Did Tyson beat Holyfield? 10. Tyrell Biggs - You've gotta be joking
Hes right. Were not talking about these fighters when they were stepping stones for contenders in the mid 90's. Tyson faced them in their primes. The fact that they fought in mid 90's shows you how poor the fighters were in the 90's or how good the 80's fighters were. Biggs like Wlad was a gold medalist. Going into the Tyson fight, many experts picked him to outbox Tyson. Remember Wlad was beaten by Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster, and almost beaten by Sam Peter.
It may have been an earlier night for Iron Mike....Vlads jab and rocket right and hook more lethal than anything Buster had to offer but on that night and that night only...Buster got off the floor to win, late in the fight and thats where the fight was won.....Vlad would still have to be carefull for a Tyson Bomb but the jab and back -up could keep Mike at bay....It would be more like a Lennox Lewis surgical stop
Granted, But I don't see a 38 year old, inactive Holmes beating Wlad. Nor even Spinks, Williams, Biggs or any of the others for that matter. As for Tyson himself, I would gladly pick a peak version to startch Wlad. But on the night he Douglas handed him his lunch, I think half of the 1990 top 10 would have done the same thing.
