No chance. He places a lot of emphasis on his record and specifically stated a while after the Hopkins fight that he wanted to retire undefeated. He also mentioned that he was getting knocked down much more than he used to, so it was another sign to retire soon.
he was a joke everyone says mayweathers a joke but look at calzaghe stayed in the uk for most of his career and then fights the fighters he shud have fought years ago when they have shot it.
You are right. I hope he is retired for good. He was slapping amateurish looking cherry picker. His best, clear win is Kessler and that is not saying much. He could have done much more but decided to take the easy way out, punk. His punching style is THE UGLIEST what there has ever been, Sweet Jesus..:dead How the hell someone calls this guy a "Master Boxer"? His whole boxing based on that gay looking non stopping punching and huge work rate. Most of his punches actually did not even hit the target and had not much affect on them. Most of his stoppage wins are also pure BS:rofl But I give him sone Credit for being undefeated which realyl dont mean that much in Joe's case and I respect some of his victories.

No credit in beating anyone: Beating Dawson: "oh but Johnson already beat him, Dawson is green/overrated" Beating Froch: "oh FFS, Taylor beat him in 11.5 rounds, Froch is the next Lacy" Beating Bute: "Lucian who?" Beating Hopkins again outlanding by 100 punches again: "robbery, robbery, old man" People always find a way to discredit some fighters. Thing is: Calzaghe's last 3 was historical SMW unification vs. now division #1 Kessler, 2nd division title vs. P4Ptop3 and now LHW champ Hopkins and shutout vs. Roy on PPV, no one offers the same caliber of superfight.
He won't. He deserves his retirement. If it was about the money then he would have accepted a rematch with B-Hop. There are no other fights out there for him, IMO. He even said after he retired that he grew tired of training anyway- if a man can't be arsed to train then he's not gonna be arsed to fight.
I sort of feel the same way regarding joe's career. He leaves the sport with plenty of question marks for my taste but his accomplishments are nothing less than stellar. I will always feel a bit empty about him, but he's arguably the best super middle of recent time and maybe even history. PS. Despite all the doubters I still feel Dawson would have gave him hell and more.
he shouldn't come back, as he was definitely slwoing down I'm a big Calzaghe fan, but one of my major regrets is he didn't get to show himself at his 100% peak, with hands that weren't a joke in the USA. Calzaghe should have fought in the USA around 2000 onwards, as he had the talent. A combination of itchy feet, and bad management for me. But more so was the fact it was all about money. He wouldn't weigh up risk vs cash, as he'd have got **** all for fighting in the states back then, so he preferred to take less risks for the same money. But talent wise, Calzaghe is up there with the best.
I applaud his decision to retire.Too many fighters hang on too long and get hurt in the process.He's rich,still has his marbles and is still a young man.I think he's done and it's a good decision.

Feeling empty about him is very normal and you're not the only one. Regarding Dawson, I'll pick comfortably pick Calzaghe in this one. Adamek tends to wait a lot and Calzaghe is extremely active constantly jumping in throwing in combinations, if you wait a lot against Calzaghe you're toast in my opinion.
calzaghe fights 3 mins of every round...........ive never seen dawson do that. In fact, ive seen him do barely anything in certain rounds and look almost gassed. How is he supposed to deal with calzaghe tell me that anyone? Im not saying it would be easy but im pretty sure and confident calzaghe would take it by a wide UD. Still, its a ridicioulous fight to be made at the moment. If your gonna come back for 1 fight at least make sure its a big fight. Froch would be much bigger.
