If manny pacquiao couldnt finish marquez in the first round of their first fight Floyd aint doing it. Maybe a systematic stoppage but no destruction here.

Pacquiao has never been knocked down since he fought as a featherweight. :deal Marquez had been knocked down 8 times as a featherweight. Twice by two unknowns (Pinckley and Norwood), Paquiao (5 times), and Barrera (once). My point is : A solid punch on his chin by a natural welterweight like Floyd is lights out for the Dinamita. Pac is already finished w/ Marquez, having beaten him twice. Unless he wins over Floyd, there is no chance that he'll land a fight w/ Pac. I am sure Floyd will destroy Marquez to make an impression.

Are you saying Manny the featherweight at that time was powerful in punches than Floyd of today?

It's a tactic. When you know you're losing the round, pretend to be knocked down, get a little rest then in the next round surprise the now over-confident opponent. Rinse and repeat.

    I call the fight a Draw. :-D

Knock downs can sometimes be attributed to more of a balance problem, rather than just being about a shakey chin.

If Floyd doesn't KO a man that its close to retirement and belong in 130lbs, then he will need to go back to retirement. This should should be an easy fight by design, as usual.

Of course, knock down is always, not sometimes, due losing one's balance. A shaky chin when hit by a solid punch will more often than not numbs the legs which eventually makes one loses his balance.

A boxer like Marquez who has been knocked down by fellow featherweights is not expected to have enough punch resistance especially if it is coming from a welterweight who's younger and stronger like Floyd.

I think this thread proves how great Marquez's recovery skills are. Either that, or pac, norwood, and the rest can't finish a fight for ****.
