    Folks,

    Back in 1960, Ray Robinson was 39 yrs old and an ex-champion at 147 & 160 pounds....:bbb

I just recorded and watched his '60 rematch loss to Paulie Pender in Boston, Mass...:yep

After watching this fight 2 X, it's too close to call...... Did Pender get the nod based on youth and freshness??:huh

I know and could tell that Ray Robinson had slipped a step or two by 1960, however, he still was in great shape and fighting on the world class level.... Late in the fight, Robinson was still up on his toes'....

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the judges and promoters were giving Ray a message by giving the decision to Paul Pender.?.? In my book, Pender was bland; while Robinson was fun.......:happy

I do have fight 1 complete, and felt Pender won fight 1 pretty easy. Well sort of.

Highlights of fight 2, so I cant relly score that from what I saw lol.

I thought Robinson won both Pender fights as well. I have extended highlites of his bout with Archer and he looks pretty bad in that fight. I personally hate Pender though so I admit I may be biased. Pender was just garbage in my opinion.

Robinson was still capable in 1960........... Pender was nobody special...............

Robinson did show his age against Fullmer in the 4th fight in 1961...........
