Do you remember how much Douglas moved in that fight. He was very quick on his feet. Ive never seen Wlad move anything close the way Douglas moved in that fight, even when hes kiteboarding.:D

the point im trying to get across is that mike faced a different grade of fighters. put these guys in their primes and the song your singin might be little more cheerful.

The impression that I got, was that you're claiming these men would have beaten Wlad, no matter the circumstances nor what phase of thier careers they were in.

That is subject to opinion. I watched the vast majority of those men both at their best and afterward. Frankly, I dont see Tyrell Biggs, Carl Williams, Frank Bruno, Tony Tubbs, James Smith, or the specific versions of Spinks and Holmes who fought Tyson to beat him.. Tucker, Ruddock and few others may have given a pre - Emanual Steward Klitschcko problems, but I'm still not sold on the idea that they would win.

i noticed you are the only one thus far far to feel that way cowboy. todays era of heavys are weak compared to the classic era of fighters.

I am not maintaing that today's era is " strong ", nor that Wlad would have beaten Tyson nor " everyone " of his opponents. If you feel however that Tyrell Biggs who had no power, no chin, no left hook ( Wlad's main weakness ), and virtually "0" wins over world class opposition, would beat Klitschko then all the more power to you...

I'm willing to bet Wladimir would KO Bonecrusher Smith, Steve Zouski, Spinks, Peter McNobody, etc.

Since when was the 80's a "classic era of boxing?"

No one is calling it such. It is notable however, that the decade presented at least two all time great champions who commonly make most people's top 10, plus a third in Evander Holyfield who was a solid contender near the end of the decade. There were also some fairly respectable titilists and contenders who might have given champions of other eras some trouble, ie Tim Witherspoon, Mike Weaver, Gerry Cooney.

To clearify, I am not on the side of those who claim that Wlad would get starched by any and every fighter who wore boxing gloves during the 80's. While I do not think he'd beat Holmes, Holyfield or Tyson, I do believe that Wlad would have beaten a fair number of the same contenders that those men fought. Some people here have listed Carl Williams, James Smith, Frank Bruno, and Tyrell Biggs as fighters who THEY believe would have beaten Wlad. I myself feel that the claim is unsupported and quite frankly, ridiculous.

Could James Smith beat Ross Purrity? Could Frank Bruno beat Lamon Brewster? Could Tyrell Biggs beat Sam Peter. You rank Mike Weaver and Tim Witherspoon over these guys? Witherspoon lost to James Smith, he also lost to Pinklon Thomas and Bigfoot Martin. He lost to James Smith in the first round!
Wlad has lost to some very mediocre fighters, and not because he was outboxed, because he was outfought or outwilled.

Wlad just looks so great cuz he fights in an era where there is no one really. I would pick both Bruno and Witherspoon to knock him out.

Witherspoon also beat bonecrusher and wasn't his loss to everett martin a robbery?

I would give Michael Spinks a 50/50 shot at beating klitschko, I dont think he would have shitted his pants if he was fighting him.
