fighting a euro champ for a paper belt is a poor excuse for giving a guy a shot at a major title that people will recognise internationally.

dont use titles to justify fights.

EDIT : sturm never earnt this so let him suffer.

Finally two top middleweights getting together this is long overdue! Hopefully this will encourage Abraham to fight the winner so we can have some clarity in this division.

Are you bitching about a unification fight, when the last time we heard he was lined up to fight Mora? The only other fights worth making are PW and AA and AA looks to be a possibility.

IF it happens, it'll be a huge win for Pavlik. I can see a late round KO, but whoever thinks this fight would end early is naive. Sturm is a good boxer and this fight would be more exciting as many people think. Pav is going to win this one if it happens, but it won't be a walk in the park for him. Sturm has made good improvements lately.

unification is a loose term - just because a guy who keeps fighting and beating C grade fighters keeps winning from his hometown.

let me say it again - dont use belts to justify fights!!

I could see it ending in the middle rounds if Sturm can't keep Pavlik off him, which he probably won't be able to do. It will be a much tougher fight than Mora would have been for sure, and possible (due to styles) tougher than the Abraham fight.

Are you drunk? Sturm has been fighting decent competition lately and is a good fight to make. Would you rather see Mora-Pavlik?

Okay -- here's the deal -- you are normally a good poster, but this is a STUPID post. Pavlik has said from DAY ONE he wanted to get the other two titles and become undisputed! Furthermore, if Sturm is a paper titlist, so is Abraham. They both won vacant titles that Jermain vacated.

but abraham has taken himself a lot more seriosuly than sturm in his career and desreves credit - as a challenger.

theres only one champ at each weight but any euro fighter who tries to gain leverage on his paper belt (which is all it'll be until he proves himself) and nothing else doesnt deserve any rep, does he?

Maybe you forgot about it or never seen the fights anyways, so here it is: Abraham does NOT go to a corner staying there when he cannot afford it. He didn't do that with Velazco, he didn't with Ikeke, and he didn't do that with Miranda after his jaws was broken. He rolled on the ropes and out of the straight line very crafty, learning that from Ottke (who was THE master at that, he basically made a career out of this) and Beyer. Against Velazco he did even do weird counter punches out of that excentric rolling move, something he then skipped because it was probably too hard to do, without risking to get caught. Sturm is the more technical overall, but easier to hit lately. The old Sturm was never hit at all, but for stupidity he abandoned that "fan-unfriendly style". That will be his downfall with Pavlik. Against Abraham, Pavlik will only win by UD when he manages to outwork Abraham (easy) without getting hit in return (hard part). The only X factor is the weight draining of both, it might make them chinny all of the sudden when they have to sweat out too much to make the weight.

Not sure what fighter you're watching! Please count the number of times AA ends up on the ropes in this short clip. The slightest amount of pressure sends AA to the ropes. Some guys didn't pressure him, but Pavlik would pressure the hell out of him.

Encourage AA to fight the winner,eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:admin:think

AA wants to fight Pavlik now,not next year. He wont be able to make the weight at middle weight for much longer.
Pavlik vs AA has to be staged within the next couple of months.

I very much hope that Gevor will win his upcomming fight with STurm so that Pavlik has no excuse to face AA very soon.
Besides Gevor will be the best fighter Sturm has faced up to now anyway! The Armenian warrior will give him hell !:D
