The Judah fight also showed that he has stamina issues if you didn't notice, as the fight was going he started to slow down and Judah was doing nothing but constantly moving and not active enough his self as he has stamina issues too so that wouldn't be considered a good enough "test" to prove anything as he goes in against Cotto. Cotto doesn't have the best stamina either but I would rate it higher than Clottey's based on watching a lot of both. Okay, let's push the Chico fight aside and not judge him based on that, what about the Margarito fight?, I know he injured his hand but it was also obvious the man was tired as he was constantly pressured and forced to use his legs. About not getting an opponent in the ring, he did his thing and kept fighting, that's what he's supposed to do and as we can see he got his shot now so let's see how this one turns out to be. I'll be surprised if he pulls it off and will admit I'm wrong if he does. My opinion of him remains the same till proven otherwise in the ring and the Cotto fight is a perfect test.
Fair post...I think we observed the fight differently because I saw Clottey coming on strong leading to a lethal uppercut that caused that cut. If you going to dismiss the Chico fight and the Margorito fight I guess you measuring stick will have to be the Alverez fight and the Judah fight...I cant knock you for what you say but I saw Clottey coming on strong from the 5th round on in both fights. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the verdict on Clottey come Saturday night.:good
I kinda see it too. it's the only thing that is keeping me from calling this right out for Clottey. His inactivty which i believe comes from stamina problems could be his only down fall.
**** HBO, they are kissing Williams' ass (just like you) with Kellerman always saying fighters are afraid of him but when a good fighter wants to fight him, they don't want to put up the money for it.
I'll give you guys the Cruz, Margorito, Chico fight but I have to disagree as of lately...Maybe I'm missing you guys points about Clottey stamina but IMO he corrected that problem....I guess its only I have to wait until Saturday before I get my answer.
:rofl You're the one who said Williams ducked Clottey..and now you come up with this **** about **** HBO...Like I said you just need to shut up because you dont have a clue to what you're talking about.
Either way, Williams hasn't made any attempts to make that fight since then and he's now out of the division.
atsch So is that Williams fault??? It takes 2 to make a fight and my boy Clottey is fighting Cotto while Williams just fought Winky...If my boy wins...I'm pretty sure the fight will come off.
In many ways it does but I hate to revert to such simplistic factors I think styles make fights and while the comparison only reitterates what most know as true (clotty is more durable) I can't help but factor in the fact that clotty was also in margo's chest the whole night not allowing margos shots to develop full leverage thus nulifiying the effects. Cotto was getting caught at the end of margos punches while boxing and moving all night, two different stratigies produces two different outcomes.
Did you see the Shamone Alvarez fight on Versus? Muscular guys like Joshua sometime have that problem. also with his D he can coast and try to hide the problem.
We sure will and I'm looking forward to a great entertaining night of action! :good Just a quick note on the Judah fight. Reason why I can't really take that one serious enough is because Judah always had stamina issues and that was a Judah coming off losses to almost everyone that Clottey fought so that test is as good as the Corrales test as far as I'm concerned. We'll see what he's made of soon.
And that's what bothers me that inactivity...but i don't think he will have that problem come Saturday. I'm going with Clottey by late TKO.
