I am going to take Vitali. Tyson and Klitschko had absoulutely nothing in common, and the version of Tyson who Douglas fought was hardly the same man who sparked spinks two years earlier.

Furthermore, Douglas was stopped on several occasions in his career to lesser fighters, and wouldn't enjoy the type of size advantage over Vitali that he often did against most of his other opponents. Both have a history of quitting in fights, but Vitali only did it once, where it seemed to be a regular for Douglas, plus their quit jobs were for very different reasons.

Klitschko was extremely durable, possesed great power and holds the record for fewest rounds lost of any champion... This is quite possibly a mismatch...

Closer fight, Vitali can move a bit, but Douglas is the better fighter. The Douglas that fought Tyson beats Vitali.

This is the worst statistical arguement in boxing history. Heres another stat for you: Vitali LOST to the two best fighters he ever fought

:lol::rofl:rofl Those two words go together like Lamb and Tunafish.

Vitali is anything but Tough as Nails. Vitali QUIT ON HIS STOOL with 2 rounds to go while well ahead on all 3 cards vs a feather fisted harmless cruiserweight in a world title fight! This is arguebably the biggest cowardly act in boxing history. "He does not have the mentality of a champion"- Larry Merchant. Evander Holyfield coincidently tore his rotator cuff in round 1 vs chris byrd one year later....Holyfield presumed to fight the next 11 rounds and FINISH the fight despite being BEHIND on the cards.

Suzie, let's be objective though, as cowardice as you can deem it, it is one fight of his many. I'm not bothered about Vitali and i don't want to end up defending him to the hills, by the way i meant tough as in he is tough as nails to beat, strong, powerful and has an effective ring presence, not 'he has heart to burn', which is how you have interpreted my post. Don't worry about it it's an easy mistake mate.

And yes i do think he is very tough, in terms of his style, he dominates the centre of the ring in his best performances and has a tremendous ring presence, hits his opponents with awkward shots from many angles to help his cause

the douglas that fought tyson was,for one nite at least,a very competant fighter with a great left jab, good movement and a respectable punch. busters talent was never in question but his conditioning and heart, his will to win,to dig deep when it mattered most was sometimes lacking. still, judging him on his career best best showing against tyson i would give him an even chance against vitali...

James Douglas lost to a lot more men than Vitali did my friend.....A lot more......And the vast majority were no where near on the same plane as the mere two men who put the letter " L " on Klit's record.....

Suzie Q, I am also up in age and favorable to old time fighters, but you are way partial to fighters from yesteryear.............. V.K. is great........ You need to get a grip and smell the coffee pot that HAS BEEN brewing for a while.......... Dinging Vitali Klitschko against some of them old fart fighters from way before is just foolish............ V.K. is for real and would "DO WELL" in any era since 1887........ Peace.....
