Do you think Margarito will someday be forgiven just as Mosley was?

    Could you really see Shane put plaster in his glove to help him in a fight? Is it the same thing? I don't think so. Shane wouldn't do it. That is the worst offense you can do as a fighter to mess with the gloves or padding to make the punches more damaging.

    I don know about the "racist comments" but what someone does outside the sport and what someone does inside the sport are entirely two different things. As far as Mosleys situation, read Jeff M's posts. As far as Tysons, there is a lot of speculation as to if he even raped the girl.

    Why don't we see Mosley rematch Adrian Stone and Shannon Taylor as well.

    Allright, I've had enough of this nonsense. You're a good poster Sue, but you're allowing yourself to be sucked into Shane's lies. The guy is obviously lying. I want you to read this article and tell me you really believe that Shane didn't know what he was taking.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/m...hane_mosley_told_grand_jury_of_ep.html?page=0

    Here are some good quotes from the article;

    "Mosley asked me about the positive effects of using EPO and how he would benefit from using it as a boxer," Conte said. "He certainly knew that it was EPO and there are three witnesses that were there that day when he was told about it and did his first EPO injection in front of us. I also told him that 'the clear' and 'the cream' were undetectable steroids that would not create a positive test. Shane Mosley has been lying publicly about his use of performance enhancing drugs and there is plenty of evidence to prove that fact. It is despicable that he continues to abuse the judicial system for his own financial gain by telling lies."

    Transcript from the grand jury testimony;

    "I didn't think that any of this was steroids," Mosley said. "I told Victor, you know, I told him that, you know, boxers don't really need steroids in the first place, because you know, steroids don't do anything. Boxing is basically from the mindÂ…"

    I have a question. Why the hell is Shane even discussing steroids with Conte if he believes all of his products are legit?

    More grand jury testimony;

    Mosley told Nedrow he thought the clear was actually flaxseed oil, a similar argument to the one used by Barry Bonds and other athletes who have been accused of using "the clear," before admitting that it was probably something else

    Nedrow: "Did they actually say it was flaxseed oil, or did they say: 'You can call it flaxseed oil?' What did they say about it?"

    Mosley: "You're right, 'You can call it flaxseed - it flaxseed oil,' basically what they said."

    Nedrow then goes on to say: "Okay. And I'm sorry. Let me clarify one thing. Because we've heard testimony that some people really thought it was flaxseed oil and some people said: 'Well, this is some stuff I have for you but we'll call it flaxseed oil.' If you know that difference."

    Mosley: "Okay, okay. It was kind of like, you know (indicating) flaxseed, we'll call it 'flaxseed oil,' it's not - it's kind of like that (indicating) like you said."

    Nedrow: "Like - quotation marks."

    Mosley: "It's (indicating) 'flaxseed oil,' but I believe it was probably - "

    Nedrow: "Something else?"

    Mosley: "I guess it was something else, yeah."

    Wow, so now Mosley is on record to admitting that he knew that Flaxseed oil was a euphamism for something else. What exactly did he think it was? Unless Mosley is in fact mentally ******ed, there's no way he didn't know he was doing something that was against the rules. If you read the whole article he full admitts that Conte told him he was taking EPO. He just claims that he didn't know EPO was illegal.:roll: Get outta here with that bull****.

    Mosley's lawsuit is a complete joke. It's a ploy to get the public on his side. There's good reason Shane withdrew the original suit and re filed in New York. The judge in that case is not even sure he has any jurisdiction over the case considering everything happened in Cali. Here's a quote from Conte on Shane's supposed big victory in the case;

    "There was absolutely no victory today for Shane Mosley in his defamation case against me. Quite the contrary...The New York judge simply asked for depositions to be taken before he throws the knockout punch to the case. Specifically, the judge noted that he is not even sure if he has jurisdiction to rule in the case. The only thing running at this point is Mosley's attorney Judd Burstein's mouth."

    This is the same bull**** tactic that Marion Jones tried to use against Conte. Look what happened to her ass. Don't be naive Sue. Unless Shane has an IQ of under 70, he knew what he was doing was wrong.

    I think you mean Shane. And no, it's not questionable whether or not Shane took PEDs. He took a potent cocktail of steroids and EPO leading up to the second Oscar fight. This is all on record and irrefutable. However, Shane is claiming he didn't know what he was taking just like Margo claims he didn't know what was in his gloves.

    to answer the thread question, definitely.

    time heals. and as long as he stays under the radar for the alloted time, people come to terms and learn to forgive.

    the worse he can do is force the issue when the cause is still fresh in people's mind. then he's just refreshing the hate instead of letting it die.

    Reg, you know I respect you as a poster man...but your missing two things in this who arguement.

    1- Shane is suing Conte for slander and defamation of character off the basis that he passed a federally administered lie detector test...one he passed with flying colors. One that was heavily based on whether or not he knowingly took steroids. That same case was attempted by Conte to get thrown out on the grounds of Conte's word (the word of a convicted felon and liar) against Shane's word (the word that was proven innocent via a lie detector test). The motion for dismissal was thrown out without even testimony...which is standard practice when a judge feels a claim is frivolous on either side (in this case on Conte's side).

    2- Of all of the hundreds and hundreds of athletes that have been accused or brought up in steriod rumors...exactly ONE has taken the step to take a lie detector test. ONE! Shane Mosely! Bonds, Clemens, Giambi, Arod, Sheffield, Marion Jones, Andy Pettite, Manny Ramirez, the list goes on and on...many of them claim to have either not done it, or not known...yet exactly zero of them have even attempted to take the necessary next step to clearing their name. Only Shane...and he did it IMMEDIATELY!!! That is what makes me "buy in" to what he is saying...if others had taken that step, Id feel better about believing them as well...but no one did.

    Was he naive? Yes! Did he do it? Yes! Do I believe him and his solid proof (the lie detector test)? Yes! Would I have if it were just his word alone? NO!

    Also, I wouldnt believe a snake like Conte if he told me the sky was blue and water was wet. He is scum...and has been proven already to be a liar. Now, despite his attempts to fight it, he is about to pay yet again for it (this time monetarily).

    if what you are saying is true ( i am not interested enough to verify your facts) then you have a point. however, saying a lie detector is solid proof is a huge stretch. on a subject not using any strategy to beat it it will be correct about 70% of the time. if you take steps to confuse the process the percentage drops. that hardly makes it solid proof.

    Interesting viewpoints. To me this is like comparing 2 guys in a a race, one takes a shortcut whereas the other tries to trip his opponent over, and to me while both are forms of cheating the guy who tries to trip his opponent over is worse.
    With regards to Shane though, it is also not clealry established if he took a wrong turn which turned out to be a shortcut, or of he deliberately chose the shortcut. People seem to forget that the guys peddling this stuff would have said anything to get more users and techinically if it meant they did not fail the testing regime then no rules were actually going to be broken. It's not in the spirit of the game, but it wasn't setting out to break any rules either.
    Lie detector test are notoriously unreliable and for that reason are not acceptable in courts over much of the world, so to me that means little.
    I also cannot beleive that Margarito did not know about the extra stuff in the wrapping, unless it was done while he was asleep.

    Trust me Sue, I'm not missing anything

    I have seen nothing concrete on this supposed lie detector test. Everything I have read about it is that Shane says that he passed one. Regardless, those things are not even admissable in court and Shane has said and done too many other things to contradict his supposed lie detector test.

    Sue, you do know that Shane originally sued in Cali and then withdrew. He did this because his lawyer found it the case was going to get thrown out. Moving the case out to New York is just a ploy, a ploy to get the public on his side and to drain Conte of his resources while he is defending himself so that he can't put out that damaging book that includes a ton of evidence against Shane. The judge is not even sure he has jurisdiction in this case. Shane has zero chance of winning this case. Given the fact that Shane is a public figure, he has to not only prove that Conte lied, he has to further prove that Conte did it with the malicious intent to hurt Mosley's character. I'm pretty sure you can agree with me that's not going to happen. Mosley and his lawyer know this as well. Marion Jones tried this same thing.

    Athletes aren't dumb. They know litigation or the threat of it is the best way to get the public on their side. A few years ago, Shane claimed he did not take PEDs at all(he has since amended it to him not knowingly taking steroids.) A writer wrote about how he did use PEDs before the Hoya fight(he had access to Mosley's grand jury testimony that was supposed to be sealed). Shane threatened to sue but had to back off once he found out the guy had the grand jury transcripts. Again, Shane has zero chance of winning this case.

    Again, I haven't even seen concrete proof of what questions where asked, who asked them, or if the polygraph was given. Regardless, polygraphs are not always reliable and Shane's grand jury testimony contradict his statement that he didn't know he was taking PEDs.

    He would have to be more than naive Sue. He would have to have a child like mind. He even admitted that they told him to call what he was taking , "flaxseed oil" with the quotation marks and everything. He further admitted that he knew that it wasn't really flaxseed oil and tried to state that he wasn't sure what it was. Now Shane claims he is very maticulous about what he puts in his body. Now why the hell would he all of a sudden put something in his body like that if he didn't even know what it was? Shane also admitts that he was told he was taking EPO but that he didn't know it was a banned substance. This contradicts another statement by Mosley where he said everything he was given by Conte was sent to the State Athletic Commission for apporval.

    Sue, this is totally flawed logic right here. The only thing that Conte has ever lied about is when he said his clients weren't given PEDs by his company. Since he was busted, he has been nothing but truthful. Find me one proven lie or contradictory statement by Conte besides him saying before that he wasn't dealing PEDS. Every athlete that has claimed Conte was lying about their PED usage has eventually been proven to be a liar. This includes Marion Jones who also tried to sue Conte. We all saw what happened to her.

    Sue, pretty much everything points to Conte telling the truth here. What motive would he have to lie about Shane? The only one I can think of would be to sell his book. However, there are a ton of athletes that Conte gave PEDs to. He has enough to write about that he wouldn't need to lie about Mosley. And if he really wanted to write about Mosley, it's already been proven that Shane ingested PEDs from BALCO. He wouldn't have to make up a story about Shane doing it knowingly if that wasn't the case.

    Shane, on the other hand, has every reason to lie. He, and his lawyer, have made numerous contradictary statements during this case. His words and actions are very much contradictary to his proclomation that he didn't take PEDs knowingly. He went to BALCO a year after the Feds started investigating them. He paid thousands of dollars for supposed vitamins. He admitts to being injected, to being told and explained to what EPO was, to being told to call what he was taking "flaxseed oil" despite him knowing that it wasn't flaxseed oil, and the list goes on.

    In the end there are two arguments in Shane's favor, the alleged lie detector test and the lawsuit. I have given explanations on why these two arguments are not valid enough. However, you failed to give an explanation for the numerous arguments I have given against Shane.

    My point isnt so much the passed lie detector test, its the fact that he is the ONLY athlete of hundreds that have been accused to step up and take one. Something he did immediately...and as stated, passed with flying colors. If he were lying like the rest, then why have noone else taken that step to clearing their name?

    And if your wondering if everything I said is true, but dont wanna look it up. Ask around, I have proven myself over the years as one of the more knowledgable posters on here, and at the very least credible! Dont worry, you dont have to research it!!!

    This would be a really good argument if it weren't for a few things. BALCO had been around for about 20 years and had an extensive client list by the time Shane joined up in 2004. Not only that, but several BALCO clients had admitted to knowingly taking PEDs from BALCO. So why would some be told but not others? Also, Shane admitted in front of a grand jury that he was explained to what EPO was. He claims however that he didn't know what EPO was. EPO is very dangerous, and there is no way that Conte would risk giving this **** out without explaining to the clients what it was. So you would basically have to believe that Shane didn't know that EPO was illegal and didn't bother to check up on it either despite the fact that he admitts that Conte told him it was potentially dangerous.
