Sturm is the most skilled of the MWs. He's more skilled than Pavlik, Abraham and arguably also Williams. However, he lacks heart, toughness, chin and power. The other guys have that. Plus Sturm doesn't want to travel outside of Germany because he got robbed in the US against de la Hoya. Some years ago I had high hopes for Sturm, but he turned out to be a disapointement. He will always remain a belt-holder who holds his belt hostage, he will never be a champ.
IMHO Sturms next opponent Khoren Gevor is a really good fighter, my personal number 4 in middleweight. This fight will be entertaining, a FOTY candidate. So please stop all this #ucking nonsense of Sturm boxing nonames all the time!
The #uck Felix Sturm Thread? You should be posting in here http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?nav=messages&webtag=ab-gaylife
Sturm may have ducked AA, but he's a good middleweight, in the technical department more skilled than the other beltholders. Although Pavlik would win against Sturm in my opinion, there's isn't a guarantee for this, because Sturm could outpoint him. Pav has a high punch frequency, but Sturm has the better guard and one of the best jabs in boxing. This isn't a walk in the park for Pavlik. Also true is that Sturm fights a dangerous guy with Gevor, so he isn't a coward. He can be accused for not fighting Abraham and not fighting in the US (any more), but he isn't a coward if he has the balls to fight Sylvester and Gevor.
Good post, frost! Well spoken! But he will be in for a tough and rough ride with Gevor in his next upcomming fight.Probably the most demanding, dangerous, and toughest fight of his pro career up till now. Gevor will probably kicked out of his stable in case he loses to his stable mate.He has to win this fight. He will go out with blazing guns being on the attack for 12 long rounds. The Armenian warrior knows quite well how to play in rough and dirty. I am positive that Sturm would have avoided this fight if he had been able to do so. Well,he had no choice. Very tough fight for Sturm! Honour where honour is due! If he wins his upcomming fight with Gevor I will take my hat off to him. However,I am not sold on him at all. I very much hope that Gevor will be victorious. By the way Sturm's stable mate Sylvester will take on AA's last victim Lajuan Simon on the undercard. Simon vs Sylvester may turn out to be more entertaining than the main event.
