Adrian Diaconu vs Jean Pascal

Based on what was done in the ring Diaconu is the single most over rated fighter in the history of ESB.

I recall telling the Diaconu clan (both of them) that Henry was a clubfighter. I had seen the guy fight in person and he sucked. He really beat Diaconu and all of a sudden he was the next great american lt heavyweight....BULLCRAP

I have only seen the one fight of Pascal with Froch and I wasnt that impressed, So I really cant say who is going to win..But my gut says that Pascal will outpoint Diaconu. I think that Diaconu's power is vastly over rated as we seen by the fact that Mack seemed to hurt Henry every other round and Diaconu never had him hurt.

 

War Pascal!!!He may had lost to Froch but he clearly was the most athletic fighter in the fight but made some **** novice mistakes in this fight that cost him the loss...But hes young ,hungry , have great skills and still much time to improve ...

I think it depends on what Pascal does. If he brawls the way he did against Froch and doesn't get his jab working early and show some movement, then hes looking at another loss and probably by knockout. If he uses those punch and grab tactics the way he did against Ikeke and shows me some foot work, then he could win this fight pretty handily because he IS the faster fighter and has more technical skills.

 

I think Pascal will win by stoppage in an action packed fight.

 

Pascal appears to have a semi-decent beard. He also appears to be far taller.

I doubt he'll knock him out. If he doesn't get tired then Pascal UD.

 

Pascal will win this fight. Diaconu is severely overrated on this board. He knocked out chinny toothpick Rico Hoye and people were proclaiming him to be White Tyson or some ****... He is not a one-punch knockout artist.. sorry folks.. just don't see it.. He barely squeaked by Chris Henry, who is a C level fighter. And his stamina sucks.

Diaconu's also way too short to compete at the elite level at light-heavyweight. I mean.. look at those pics of him and Pascal next to each other. Pascal is a super-middleweight. He is the one who is jumping up in weight but he looks much bigger than Diaconu. Being bigger and faster than your opponent.... not a good thing for the caveman-fighting style of Diaconu's. I simply don't see him winning many fights at the top level. Pascal's fast hands and movement will befuddle him.

 

Goes to points, IMO. Diaconu isn't as good as everyone makes out- I think Pascal wins a wide UD.

 

Diaconus career was ****ed up by his managemnet problems and even if i am from Romania i think Pascal has the more chances to win. I would call it 60-40 for Pascal. Anyway i am verry disapointed by Diaconu, as an amator and early in his career he was a promising fighter.

 

Defense: dia (watch him move out of the way of henry s punch)
Speed: Dia has fast hands, his first reaction is pretty fast too
Movement: Pascal move more
Stamina: Im putting pascal but neither one have good endurance
Power: Dia without a doubt, lets not forget that pascal is getting up in weight. Dia has power with both hands.
Mental: I thing dia is stronger mentally. He is also older than pascal.
Athletism: Pascal is a better athlete but he wastes a lot of energy due to his bad technique.
Technique: Dia has a better amateur background than pascal. He won 14 medals out of a possibility of 15 at the olympic. He won silver at the world championship. Most specialist agree on the fact that pascal need to improve his technique.

Serioulsy, I cant see how Pascal can win this fight. :nono

With just over a week to wait for that fight, my pick goes to AD for a lot of reasons. First, I've been following him since he landed in Montreal about 6 years ago and I always had a good time seeing him destroye his opponents. Second, a lot of ESB fans are putting him down, because he has a tendency to not bring his A game when the bout is not important. Third, it will be the first fight between Interbox and Gym, and because of how Gym lacks a lot of respect to us fans by putting togheter cards with tomatoe cans to build their boxers records. And finally, because Diaconu is way more experienced than Pascal, who by the way is starting to look like a pro boxer in the ring, also because Pascal has to go to a higher weight and because Diaconu is as fast but has way more power in both hands then Pascal.

My prediction is Diaconu by KO in the 5th.

I will be live to hear the crowd go nuts since they divided the place in two, as far as tickets sold by the organisations, to accomodate the two stables fans.
