Its 50/50 i think u got lewis great jab and tyson with the head mov power punches, i wouldnt like to bet on it.
Dats just a very crazy comment,i would understand if u say Lennox in his prime would give Tyson a fight everytime, but 2 say Lennox would beat "PRIME IRON MIKE"!! everyytime, now dats just absurd!!!
I put much thought on this matchup back when I composed my greatest (with reference to H2H and peak abilities) heavyweight champions list. I long since got rid of my data, but if I recall correctly, I had the Lewis who fought Holyfield beating the Tyson that fought Biggs around 7 out of 10 times.
both of them fighting at their best, I see an ugly 12 round decision in Mike's favor . . . I say this because Lennox was never knocked out in his prime . . . when he was well prepared, which i assume he would be for Mike Tyson, I think it would be similar to the Bone Crusher fight, Lennox pulling out all the tricks and spoiling, but losing a clear 4-8 decision based on agression and punches landed
I will always take Lewis by Ko/TKO. But Mike always has the chance to close his eyes and hit him with a shot like McCall.
Tyson HIMSELF said Lewis was too big and too strong, and he would never have beaten him. Buster Douglas showed everyone how to beat Tyson.... and Lewis did everything Douglas does just 10x better. Tyson is the MOST overated HW of ALL TIME, he gets so many allowences it's untrue. He beat a bunch of bums in the 80's then Lost everytime he great oposition Holyfield and Lewis Then got KTFO by domestic class boxer Williams and the never was Mcbride
IMO Lewis would beat any version of Tyson...Lennox would fight Tyson tall using his jab and clinch when needed...Lewis was a great boxer who had a thunderous jab followed by that crushing right hand (and uppercut whenever he needed it) Tyson would have his moments, no doubt about it but I just think Lewis is to much for Tyson.
This thread is refreshing...atsch Lewis beat a prime Tyson and maybe even quicker. A prime Tyson take many chances to land a single shot and Lewis could spark him more easily. The Tyson that fought Lewis was hesitant and much more defensive.
Lennox was behind the points many times..his not so skilled at all. Altought Tyson is taylor made target to him
