Boxers are slim. If you ever met a boxer in real life, they are tall, small and always slim(except the overweight slobs lol). Even Wlad K is tall and slim. Stretching is for staying loose. Boxers muscles hit pads, they run steps, do road work, and jump rope. You have to keep those muscles loose always because once a boxers starts to move, his muscles go right back to tightening up because those muscles also protect the body. A boxer can get huge biceps just hitting the heavy bag. A boxer has to be able to move in any direction, and be able to move on command when punching or blocking...or just moving around. Also keeps the blood circulating nicely.

Im cracking up at how many people are saying "stretching does nothing".

Did ANY of you take a single sport in High School and watch someone pull a muscle because they werent warmed up?

Stretching is not just lengthening the muscle. Its to increase the blood flow to the muscle as well as well prime the nervous system for physical activity.

Whether an individual prefers static stretching or or dynamic stretching, either way, a warmup is CRUCIAL before a workout in order to minimize injury.

You should always stretch before you workout, whether running, weight lifting, boxing, etc. Keeps you from pulling a ligament, or whatever.
