They are close to 16,000 tickets sold already, this is without an HBO countdown show or anything.

This just proves that us, boxing fans will support the true fights in boxing. Why they would back up PBF vs. Marquez with a 24/7 and not at least do a countdown on Cotto-Clottley, is beyond me... but I am glad its going well.

It will be a great fight and possibly fight of the year! :bbb:bbb

Because Mayweather/Marquez has a fight with Pacquiao waiting for it when it's over and Clottey isn't popular at all. People care about big names and attractive fights, Cotto vs Margarito was considered a "real" fight yet it made 400k, DLH/Pacquiao was considered a circus and it nearly tripled that amount.

They should have had a countdown show to this.

It actually did closer to 500K. Which is more than Manny or Floyd ever did without De La Hoya or Hatton.

Exactly. This isn't a great fight. Easy but ugly win for Cotto.

What's interesting is that Top Rank said more presale tickets were purchased for this fight than any other Cotto fight.

They only do 24/7 shows for high profile PPV's.

They had one for De La Hoya-Forbes. They also had one of Taylor vs. Wright which was on regular HBO.
